I don’t know if anyone else remembers this, but I’ve never forgotten it. In 1999 Celtic played rangers in the Scottish cup final. The referee was Hugh Dallas. BBC football show interviewed him in his home in the build up to the final and showed it on the morning of the final. Dallas son was filmed running about in a RANGERS kit. Not shocked he supports rangers, but incredibly silly or just plain arrogant to think it was suitable timing to wear it. Forward 20 years and that kid is a grade one referee in Scotland. Andrew Dallas. He awarded rangers FOUR penalties in one match against at Mirren before VAR came in. Two of them were outside the box and a third was a dive. The fourth was correct and rangers missed it. Rangers fans then complained they didn’t get a fifth penalty that day.

Another couple missed signings were; Jardel to Rangers, a fee was agreed and he visited and everything was signed - only issue was the work permit by the Brazilian FA. Ronaldinho to St.Mirren, same thing really - everything agreed except work permit by Brazil FA. There was loads like the Messi / Iniesta thing, where interest was sent and bids etc but either through lack of money or players being happy where they are or choosing other places. A couple others are; R9 Ronaldo to Rangers who was offered a contract to only play European games - ultimately last second him and the agent chose Inter Milan instead. Drogba to Celtic but basically some guy said that he wouldnt make it into the Celtic team.... Rivaldo to Celtic, could have happened if they offered him a deal and not a trial.

I don’t believe McLeish used football manager to try loan messi or iniesta. I think that’s nonsense to be honest. They also tried to get Ronaldo from PSV. Rangers did get a few players from Barca. Arteta being the stand out. A man who couldn’t get into the Spain national team only because of xavi, iniesta, busquets and fabregas. The fall from grace was extraordinary. It changed name to football manager after a dispute between the writers and producers sega. Sega owned the name and the writers owned the game code. So championship manger and football manager are the same game. Sega ran with championship manger as a different game format but fans followed the writers and moved to FM. CM does out. I think you should’ve definitely added the Motherwell and Willie Collumb situation that’s going on, for the past 3-4 years we always get him as a ref, especially on big games and it seems like 80% of the decisions go against us, again and again and again, it’s gotten so bad he had to be demoted league but he’s back and nothings changed, it’s not just him, most referees I see give Motherwell i huge disadvantage, so if you ever do a video on the Scottish leagues again maybe add something like this

One that is pretty close to me was Craig Gowans, he was at Falkirk's youth academy back in early 2000's and was touted to be the clubs next big star, he died when a pole for the big nets behind the goals he was carrying in training hit a power line, when I started working there as a coach in 2010 we held a remembrance ceremony for him and still to this day in the tunnel there is a framed jersey with his name on it and some flowers underneath

He was later filmed drinking in the crown bar in bells hill which is a known rangers pub. That bar has a supporters club called John Beaton rsc. There’s banners at the games. Ok, it’s his local. But he should know better than to go in after a derby he refereed.

Look there’s nae doubt Beaton is a blue nose through and through .. but I’ve always found him to be the opposite of bias for rangers , very rarely does he actually give us decisions we should have got .. I think he’s very aware of the narrative surrounding him so he knows he can’t really give us any calls without scrutiny , even if the call is the right one

I used to live in a flat in Glasgow's Mount Florida neighborhood which shared a street with the national stadium Hampden Park and Cathkin Park was just one street ahead. It was a bit of a multi use space from hosting secret pop up raves, great spot for barbecues in the summer to hosting an all refugge football club names EastbAfrica F.C to use as their training ground. It was much loved by residents and many dog walkers in the area cause it was a great green space and also had large trees around the edge great for tawny owls and foxes. But unfortunately as of 2022 ,the Jimmy Johnstone Charitable Trust was granted a 20-year lease of the football pitch, with the condition that the facilities remain 'open to all.' However, in 2023, the Trust faced backlash for allegedly violating this agreement by fencing off the green space, prompting residents to fight back. As of 6 August 2024, a local authority’s decision to allow a fence to be erected by the occupier of land around the perimeter of a football pitch within a public park was successfully challenged in court via a judicial review action.

Its funny referee corruption was brought up. I have a family member that almost went full time as a SPL ref back in the 90s after doing well in in youth and junior football and was given reserve games when Scotland used to have the reserve league. After been given the Edinburgh derby in the reserve league they got a call for a meeting with the SFA about going pro but they were then rejected because they didn't have a "good job" and was told to come back when they had a "real job". Most refs at the time worked in banks etc where my family member was a butcher in a supermarket. After the meeting with the SFA they were stripped of refereeing at the reserve level and the one that they missed the most was a yearly tournament where the forces would play each other which they had refereed for the previous 3 years along with other refs from around the UK and they also were never given another junior cup final after that. Even as a kid i thought it was crazy that a few referee's that went on to be pro's were always linesmen or the 4th official behind my family member and my family member got rejected just because of a job.

Police chief inspectors k ew and did nothing except support Celtic instead of investigating, also politicians must of known and did nothing. A public enquiry is still being denied for unknown reasons. Oh yeah. The current first minister is a Celtic fans and won’t allow an inquiry. Worst scandal in football history ever. It needs this video to reflect Celtic denied for more then 50 years what happened. To try to protect their ‘good reputation’ they would do anything including threaten and intimidate the kid victims and their families to withdraw charges. And not talk about what happened. Worst scandal ever in football. The abuse was allowed to continue while cops did nothing. Except support Celtic. Chief inspectors knew and did nothing. So did the top politicians in Westmonster. We need a public inquiry. It’s denied constantly. Please edit the video at 18.25 to say what’s accurate and not cover up what happened. 50 years is far to long to hide this. Here's a little historical snippet. The last Scottish team to win a european trophy was Aberdeen in 1983. Forty one years ago, FORTY ONE!!! Does that give you any idea of how awful Scottish football is? Since then only three teams have reached finals, the old firm and Dundee United in 1987, and they lost. For a mixed bag of Scottish football trivia / events it seems the comments section is overwhelmingly about Rangers. Quite clearly It’s not just Gers fans who are obsessed with Rangers. There’s always more interest in the big clubs I suppose and Rangers are obviously the biggest in Scotland, I just wish people would stop saying Old Firm, I’m not comfortable with the Gers being associated with a club so riven with paedophiles.

@@OffThePostYT Not really fussed but don’t like Old Firm, as a Rangers fan I would’ve binned the term years ago but the media and neutrals like to use it. The thing about it is..Celtic fans like to think that it bothers Rangers fans by saying the Old Firm doesn’t exist anymore and they go to great lengths to make this false claim when the owner of Celtic FC renewed the licence on this worn out term which is trademarked. The Club did it quietly of course to avoid upsetting the moon howling Celtic fans who are still trying to come to terms with the reality that Rangers still exist and are still the same club to Rangers fans and the club is recognised as such by all the organisations that matter. Glasgow Derby, Gers v Soap Dodgers, Rangers v Them…call it what you will.
