I'm sure when you started planing that metal edge every carpenter watching passed out and fell on the floor. Cheers from Iowa

As a retired carpenter I've planed several bits of metal over the years; but never intentionally... Thank you for sharing what you get up to in your shed.

Absolutely brilliant, yours and John's skill sets just keep on amazing me. The first video I watched was bĺowing the cobwebs off the A35 and then I remembered the name Ivan Dutton from all those years ago every month reported in Cars and car Conversion magazine and Motoring News.

"You can always watch the Shed Racing vids you missed!" Never missed one and never cut forward! This little car is just brilliant, but please, dear Ivan, be careful. It might be a dangerous beast! Best wishes from George

It's amazing what you have done with the car. I have never seen anyone planing metal like that. Very interesting! I am looking forward to seeing your episodes with my Shed Racing mug and a hot cup of tea. Thanks to Suzie for being so pleasant to deal with on the merch and to John for his skills in doing any kind of work there.

I don't know if you are aware, but several Kurtis Midgets were extended in the 1950s and re-engined with large Offys. At least one qualified at Indy. Great videos!

Have you considered Dresden Blue as a color. I used that on my series V 4/4. Has held up well for a bit over 30 years and as acrylic enamel is quite a good medium for the home based mature. It is a standard PPG color.

On my Morgan I put a buzzer in line to theturn signal flasher unit. The turn signal is controlled by a toggle switch and at speed the click of the indicator is rather inaudable.

American racing colour was white and blue I believe, white was Germany
@jonathangriffin112016 сағат бұрын
I'm pretty sure silver was Germany's racing colour, thinking of the Merc and Auto Union 'Silver Arrows'.
@TamTran-vw7zm8 сағат бұрын
@@garychilds1130 actually germany's racing color is white, a'la porsches, but some cars were raced w/o paint and fostered the German Racing Silver myth.

@@suziepilkington5600 My profound apologies if you thought I was 'getting at you'. I was not. It is extraordinarily difficult to communicate 'tone' in comments. I really appreciate what you have achieved with this channel. It is simply that it is Ivan's hands that are telling the story as much as his words. I trust you will accept my apology?

At 14:36, what is the fiber material called that Ivan's hand is resting on where a panel rests on another? The material sits between one body panel and another and I'd like to know what it's called. Thank you.

What you should probably do, to make it totally authentic, Is to let an old man from the USA drive it first. You know, American car, American driver. That would seal the deal and I would volunteer.

Shaving sheet metal with a plane??? Is that not what a file is for? Perhaps an angle grinder...I'm confused.
@wrstew127216 сағат бұрын
That John is a handy chap ain’t he?😊. And everyone knows that you have to sharpen your plane before cutting Loomnin. That’s the only way to fly 😅. The horn with the flashers is a bit annoying, how about a led light to remind you 😮
