I can't believe she's gone. Ofra Haza had a God-given beautiful voice. One of the world's best. I truly miss her. Her culture is beautiful and I know very little about it, other than the legend of the Queen of Sheba.

Salaam Shalom Listening to Ofra, one has got to understand, she does not entertain... she worships in most of all that she does. She, unlike so many singers, brings us into the Universe, in which we all live, yet til one such as her comes along, we are missing the finer VIEW that she is used to bring us into. I would love to learn the Semitic languages Ofra Haza sang in; but whatever the language- Arabic, Aramaic or Hebrew, they're all beautiful words to hear. When I hear them, to me they are the closest thing to hearing Adam & Eve speaking to God for the first time. God Bless you all 4 we are brothers/sisters thru' Adam & Eve, and then again thru' Noah, then again thru' Abraham.

actually, most Lebanese, Syrians, Palestinians, and Egyptians say "albi" with the inital letter qaaf changing to a glottal stop - "kalbi" means "my dog" and "qalbi" means "my heart" - "k" does not substitute for "q" in any dialects - it's a little difficult to explain without writing in Arabic script, but in Latin script, the qaaf sound is usually represented by "q" and it should not be confused with the kaaf sound represented by "k" - they are distinct and are never interchangable

the correct form is GALBI, that's the real sound, G and not Qaf, old Arabic was pronounced G and that's the proper pronunciation.

hehe do u know anything in arabic at all???? qaf is the frist letter of qalbi.... "galbi" is qalbi but in a yemenite dialect

why does it seem so mysterious and nonsense that Old Arabic or Old Arabics cuz they were so many dialects at the time of the prophet was nothing compared to the Modern Classic Arabic pronunciation. The original sound for Qaf was Gaf Qaf came actually Adjam languages like Farsi like other sounds such as Gh for Ghain where Arabs didn't make
