Beautiful work. I just got my 18mm and got my 35, 50 and 75 earlier in the year. I'm in preproduction for a short film to shoot hopefully over the summer. So far I love them.

Thanks!! Glad you’re enjoying them. The 18mm is one of my favourites! Good luck with the shoot 👊

A gorgeous set review! I love how the 18mm prime doesn't have that wide angle distortion feel, great review as always!
@OfTwoLands Жыл бұрын
Thank you mate!! And yes, that's also why I love the 18mm, doesn't feel like a crazy wide one!

Why would you think an 18mm prime lens would cornerstone? It's not a fisheye.

Your reviews are always good, thankyou Nice to see the 100mm added. I use the FF range with my 4k and 6k. I invested to future proof and I love them. Just added the 16mm to the 24,35 and 85 I already have.

I also love the performace of their FF set, great match for my bmpcc6k pro.

Hi, what woulod be your choice for a L-mount affordable wide angle super 35 cine lens, to be used with a BM 6k FF ? the meike unfortunately doesn't have an L-mount. in a comparison between the 7artisan and the sirui, the sirui seemed to perform better, but ... maybe some other brand perhaps ? thanks

great video! i have been waiting to pull the trigger on my first set of cinema glass. im torn between dzo vespids and the meike s35 line. forgetting the fact that dzo vespids are full frame, which would you recommend between the two?
@OfTwoLands Жыл бұрын
Thanks!! I have only used the Meike S35 and the DZO Pictor zooms so it is hard to tell. The Meike are great values and I love them, the DZO are FF and maybe more future proof but also more expensive. Either way I don't think you'll be disappointed :)

Great presentation as usual. I do hope you get to test the 75mm. I'm currently undecided on the 75mm or 100mm for my narrative films. Also one of the meike cases has a slot for a S35 12mm lens. Is there a 12mm coming? I sure hope so🎬 Cheers Flo 🍻
@OfTwoLands Жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot!! For me getting the 100mm made more sense since I had the 50mm but the 75mm is also a very useful focal length. I have no idea about a 12mm but I just checked the case and you're right! Hopefully there is one then :)

A bit late to the Party, but the 75mm is one of the better ones in this set. the 50mm seems to be the "most flawed one". I used it with a Viltrox EF-E Speedbooster and it does not vignette much at all. Neither on Infinity nor Close Focus. honestly, i would go 18 25 35 75 70-200 or 50-135 if you are ok with using Lenses from different vendors/brands. A 135 or 180 would very much be appreciated, not going to happen for now it seems

Could you make a short video on how to use the shim kit to fix the infinite focus markings? I can’t find a single video on it. Would be much appreciated :)

If you were to buy three of these, which would you buy? I have a BMPCC 6K Pro. I create advertisements for local businesses and have some Sigma lenses that are great for that. But I want to get into making short films.
@OfTwoLands Жыл бұрын
Again it really depends on what you need them for. 18, 35 and either 75 or 100 would give you great range and consistency.

I have a question: if the lens is made for a crop sensor. Does the focal length remains as it is? Example: 25mm Meike is roughly 35mm in FF field of view.
@OfTwoLands Жыл бұрын
The way I understand it is that lenses are not made for sensors in terms of field of view so a 25 is a 25 regardless of the camera. This 25 will have a FF equivalent of a 38-40mm roughly on the bmpcc6k due to the crop factor. These are made for S35 so they are smaller and do not physically cover a FF sensor in terms on resolution and size.
@kunsunrethy Жыл бұрын
@@OfTwoLands that's actually what I thought in my mind. I will just add the crop factor to the focal length and I will see my field of view. That's what I have been thinking and doing. But with the label of "apsc lens" going around, it got me confused 😕

Weird question here for anyone willing to shed some light: I have a bunch of lenses. My focal range is basically 11-50mm (across a few lenses) and then an 85mm. I’m using a BMPCC 6K Pro rigged out with wireless follow focus. All the lenses (excluding my Meike 50mm) are photo lenses. My 85mm is the canon f1.8 and is very hard to work with because of the difference in size and usability with my rig. My question is which lens should I buy out of the Meike set next? I’m looking at either the 75mm or the 100mm.

I have 35mm. Do you have any problems with the follow focus installing? It feels loose and when I change the direction it doesn’t respond right away and I hear click sound. Do I have set it wrong… 🤔😖
@OfTwoLands Жыл бұрын
I am not sure what you mean, sounds like the follow focus has a issue?

4:40 -- S35 on 6K Pro... noob question; is there any vignetting with the Super 35 lenses on the Full Frame sensor?
@OfTwoLands Жыл бұрын
I think you might experience vignetting with S35 lenses on FF sensors depending on the focal length.

I think you can make a film with any lenses, but having a set of cinema lenses will definitely enhance the experience and look.
