Yes, I have been impressed with all of their gear. Was buying their lenses long before I did KZbin.

I love that there is a full set. I will keep them in mind when I make my next camera upgrade into the canon rf line. You're channel has definitely been one of the biggest things helping me improve my own video content. Thank you for the reviews!

Amazing review I have the MFT version and love the lenses, much more quality than the other brands coming out. Especially the sharpness, That's just my opinion haha. Definitely going to buy more!

How do these compare to the high end rental lenses?

How good are they for photography?

I just picked up the FF 7 artisans spectrum cine because thats been sorely lacking market for inexpensive cine primes. I even adapted some s35 sigma zooms to my fx3 because peice was too hard to pass up at 70% off. glad im not a professional though. Love the passion projects term. Glad more are getting into more budget priced cine because ill never have a projwct that would warrant a rental much less higher end lens. Gimmee cheap and brutal and ill take waht it can give me and steal what its not aware of.

Hi Mark. How does it behave with handheld footage and R7 IBIS?
@markwiemels2 ай бұрын
Not good, manual lens IBIS is still unusable.

Thanks for the video and the links Mark! I am surprised that they were able to release these for the RF mount. I thought that Canon's stance was that of no 3rd. party lenses support. Also, RF mount is full frame, but these lenses are designed for Super 35/APS-C? Are the RF variants bigger?
@getfmlr Жыл бұрын
Canon allows 3rd party RF mount lens as long as they are Manual only...no AF. RF mount is NOT full frame only..not sure where you heard that.

What about that story about Canon not allowing other companies to make RF lenses? Is it over?
@odetas9597 Жыл бұрын
It may mount, but will it autofocus???
@markwiemels Жыл бұрын
Cine lenses are manual focus, so these are manual focus, which has always been allowed on the RF mount.

I got the mft set for my bmpcc 4k; I just wish they made it easier to switch mounts.
@markwiemels Жыл бұрын
I know, I was thinking the same. It's probably just a few screws and the mount.
@SCULPTURAMAplus Жыл бұрын
How does the RF mount work with Canon’s current stance on not allowing 3rd parties to use that mount?
@markwiemels Жыл бұрын
Manual lenses are ok. Legally, they couldn’t stop the manual lenses.
@SCULPTURAMAplus Жыл бұрын
@@markwiemels thanks. Just got into the RF system and so many decisions to make on compatibility. I have a BMD Pocket 6K G2 with an EF mount and I’d love it if they could start using the RF mount in the future. It would make things much simpler. I’m already using Nikkor AIS manual lenses with EF adapters onto an RF adapter. It’s a bit of a pain.

95% of ppl watching a scene dont care or even NOTICE the slight change of focus breathing! I don't understand the emphasis ppl put on this lens trait. If you're doing your job with subject direction, focus breathing is literally unoticed and obsolete to 95% of ppl waching! Its only undesirable to lens snobs who don't do their jobs correctly. I know you had to include it in the review but seriously, ppl ARE NOT concerned with the slight swell of the frame, they are focused on the subject.
@markwiemels Жыл бұрын
While I agree that a slight swell is not much of an issue, it’s still more desirable to have a consistent frame. Also, some lenses do focus breath really bad, making focus pulls almost a crash zoom. Some of my Sony lenses are terrible for this. So I would agree, on a whole, if it’s just a slight swell, it’s fine, and you could even edit it out in post if you had time.
@ShotbyPicto10 ай бұрын
Truth man! Blows my mind the level of attention given to focus breathing, as though it’s a massive product defect. I feel exactly the same about chromatic aberration.
@prOkrEAt4 ай бұрын
I hate to say, I like focus breathing 😳 gives movement to whole frame as to pull in or out. 🤷 It's just turning a negative into a positive I guess.
