The Premeire of Carver Park Crips begins with Willie Herb chopping it up with KMV Co Host Melle Mel aka The Professor inside Willowbrook Carver Park on 118th and Success in Compton/Willobrook. This is the most anticipated and one of two of the most important histories of the Compton Crips. Willie Herb of the Baby Crips generation explains the various name changes before the Carver Park Crips came to exist.

Willie Herb from Carvard Park. So between Carver Park and the Grandies is where it all started in Compton? Hearing the begining of how Carver Park came together is pretty interesting, l'm sure once they came together. It was on like no other.. I love hearing about Big Tookie and when people mention Jimel? Everyone is like? "We ain't gonna talk about it". What caught me off guard was the fact that there was no mention of Mack Thomas but l'm hopeong that gets covered in part 2. S/O to the Professor Melly Mel for his interviewing skills. Thank you KMV and Big Kev for lacin us with this Carver Park history. You are doing some legendary work OG!!! Word up!!! Peace!!! #Salute!!!

His comments about being in the unincorporated part of LA County and how that affects of limited resources made available to the communities is an important point. Growing up in an unincorporated area of LA County on 106th and Budlong (Shout out to the Selos) definitely the lack resources had a major impact for our community and we kind of fell in between cracks. Having the County Supervisor as your mayor versus an actual mayor makes differences.

I’m sure the Cambodians used to claim heavy in the 90’s early 00’s, but the just claimed , no hoods though and as far as south philly / Southwest it’s a few that claim blood but once again no hoods and never was sanctioned because they were wannabes. We rep our neighborhoods and block within them neighborhoods. It just never caught on like they did in Jersey and NewYork. The "C" that really matters is Community. That "C" should be the first and foremost "C" with family representing the entire community. This is the adult view...the 1969, 70' view is as boys and teens. The full evolution is a must to make the most powerful moves. > SCLA 73'/USC

Real talk. 1969-1972 was teens way of thinking. They had no idea how big and out of control this thing we call gang banging would become. We have much more in common with one another than not- and have enough information now to understand its uselessness and foolishnesses to find a better direction.

@@KevMacVideos Somebody commented on some channel about how we never here from "the doctors, lawyers and sports figures that made it out and have stories to tell." Many of us types were right there in SCLA. We were at Horace Mann and Washington High from 68' and 69'...saw classmates change to near unrecognizable in character...some childhood friends were lost/gone, although you were looking at them walking around. Flip side, if you were from those schools - unless you were just a super-nerd - you were block affiliated just by proximity a lot of times. We all experienced similar traumas in SCLA. Even if we were street smart and well known...active or not, you were tested, challenged and witnessing the same mayhem. Although not still in California, my efforts are still on community uplift and gang prevention/intervention programming...as was once my role with LACOE, LA Bridges and more. My website is up now to promote love in the community, especially after Nipsey Hustle's murder. South-Central-love.myshopify.com

Some do some don't but I don't hear anybody saying he wasn't there. I think the dislike for Jamel is something deeper from a few of these OG's.

It's funny because Jimmy the bishop,ac Moses say tht jimel was there from the beginning a east side Crip with Raymond Washington so that would made him before tookie and the west side crips and I think it's that and the fact that he talked against tookie tht the hate comes in but the truth is the truth and it hurts all the big OG bloodz and pirus say he was there but only the cats tht fall understand the west side crips card dis him and even monster Kody said that jimel was a big factor and the leader of Avalon crips so he is crazy now but jimel was before tookie and a big factor at one time

@@foxworthbentley3476 In AC Moses Book "The starting line up" he mentions Jimel as the one who kept the Crips in line when they were in YA together.

@@complexblackness the more and more interviews you see it is a fact tht the westside crips took over and my the stories told and names come up tookie was looked up to by the younger guys but the guy his age tookie wasn't a problem at all they asked Jimmy the bishop and AC about fighting tookie Jimmy said wasn't nobody worried about him and AC said it wouldn't have even been a fight tookie had nothing for him and when talking about the real bad ass crips tookie name is never said but it was jimel that was going around town punkin groups into becoming crips thts how he got knocked out the man is crazy now but you have to tell the truth jimel was a big factor before he went crazy and if the big OG bloodz say he was a big factor in the crips then all these crips are lying on him...
