16:30 I recently found out that the mechanics for atk changes on the Dormouse + Crypter doubling doesn't actually double the atk boost the Dormouse gives. Not sure if it's because the doubled attack is tied immediately to the summon or some weird layer-style interaction with the lingering effect of Dormouse, but the Crypter will only be 5600, not 6200 as you might think. Pretty sure there's a documented ruling in OCG on exactly that.

It is as you say. This is similar to Power Bond doubling the ATK of Ancient Gear Chaos Giant that typically is unaffected by Spells/Traps. The stat change is part of the summon effect, then all other card effects apply after that. So it doubles, then gets the +600 or additional modifiers. Edit: An ever weirder ruling I've seen is that Crypter outright ignores the stat boost, by 'setting itself' to 5k that I find ridiculous. It didn't matter in that specific gamestate, and as soon as Utopia the Lightning was mentioned as precedence (completely different effect) I decided to ignore everything said and left immediately.

@@TheDBGrinder understandable, although respectfully to both players in every replay I'm more interested in the commentary than the actual gameplay itself. I use it to keep up with the 'meta trends' while your point of view (very different from mine) allows me to see different angles and compare which would have been better. Sometimes I even hear the replays so that I don't get hand knowledge lol. I hate using DB (judge calls, lag, toxicity) so through the channel I get a taste of the 'grind' then apply the info irl.

He lost cuz he wasn't playing the trap. The trap is low key the best card in the deck fr alongside prayers. They essentially do the same thing. So if you ever find yourself wishing you could use prayers a swcond time just send the trap to the grave. Thats it.
