I think a would use a piece of tile to set everything on…looks cool! Nice if you don’t want to get a big campfire going but still have the ambiance! I have a mini solo one and have not tried wood pellets yet with it. Good to know you like them. Easier to transport.

I have scene stoves like this on the market that you can feed the fire from the bottom at the side That way you do not burn your hands feeding the fire from the top

I know! I think this one is meant to be fueled from the top, but maybe you are right! I have a rocket stove and I put pellets and wood through the side.

I'd never set a flaming metal pot on a wooden disc. I couldn't see the bottom of the outer shell. Is it a double layered one piece? It doesn't look like it. It looks like the ashes and coals will fall through the inner basket and sit on the metal bottom which is touching the wood. The longer the burn the more coals. I looked on the reviews and all the 1-star reviews (5 as of today) show photos of charred wood and reviewers warning it may set the disc on fire. Another said bits of wood fell into the lower area and flames were coming out the air holes.

I've used it every day and never has the wooden disc gotten burnt or charred. I burned it all day. Thing is . . . people are warning that it MAY catch on fire - they are not warning that it is catching on fire. I'm not sure what those 5 reviews are referring to - if they burned something other than pellets or wood. I don't know. I've been burning it all day at a meetup with pellets and the wooden part doesn't even get hot.
