Ogg-It Hydro Sausage Stuffer / Free Build Plans

We were looking to make some large batches of sausage; however, we lacked a large stuffer. We liked the ease of use of a Hydro Stuffer and after struggling to find any plans online, we thought we would share our own. This video follows the build process. Fun Father-Son project, we hope you enjoy!

You're welcome! I currently only use it with water, but using compressed air has come to mind. I would think that it would be best to install a regulator in both directions for a finer level of control of the piston speed. Good luck!

Yep, shut off the main water supply and open the drain. As the water drains, the vacuum it generates behind the piston will pull it back to the starting position. I typically hurry it along by pushing the piston back manually as well. I've seen some modifications where people add a small water pump to speed things up as well. Good luck.

How much time have you spent on this project? Would you consider producing and selling one? Given the price you mentioned it would save money for those who's interested in it even with a mark up.

The time to complete the physical build is reasonable; however, the design, documentation, and video was the bulk of the effort. As far as selling one, we wanted to contribute the design / build process here to allow individuals to make improvements and or modifications and we're eager to spend our efforts to find even more projects to share.

The red orings you use where they #341 or #342? Because I so another video and that guy use 342, thank you for sharing a great detailed video

I used #341 instead of #342. I used the depth of the cut on the piston to determine the fit. I was concerned that #342 would be just a touch to large and end up pinching (i.e. cutting) the rubber when inserting into the main body. I had both sizes on hand, and likely either will work, but the fit was better using the #341 size. Good luck!

@@nickvitobovino3486 Correct; however, the length is entirely variable, I get about 7 lb of ground meat with this length of pipe.

Depends a lot on your ability to source components locally to avoid shipping, but $100 would be a good ballpark for this build; however, this can be sized to your desired specification just by increasing the length of the main body. The price delta between 2ft and 10 ft of 4" PVC pipe is about an additional $5 - (give or take). Hope that helps.
