This piece must be popular in Russia. Was requested from there. Many YT videos of this piece are titled as such. By including it in the title, more can search for it :) Glad you liked it. I did too. Had never heard of this composer before.

Michał Kleofas Ogiński wrote this piece in 1794 after the failed so called "Kościuszko Insurection" (Poles failed with Russians) so he named it "Farewell..." because he emigrate to France just after the event. But 10 years later he came back to now partitioned country to the part now controled by Russian Empire and he become a loyal russian citizen. Such a joke of history ! Thanks for that piece and best wishes from russian community in Poland.

That's true. Did you know that in Moskow, if you are trying to have a ride in Underground without paying, you hear first bars of this Polonaise. I'm not sure about how is it now, but it definetely was so!
