Was surprised to find #1 “TMNT” in my junk drawer.. I never played it.. didn’t even know I had it or where I got it. Popped it in my SP and it blew my mind. Super good game.

The first boss battle in the game based on the 2007 film was Hun Who was heavily modelled after how he appeared in the 2003 series

He's not the only nod to the 2003 series. You can get Shredder's helmet as a trophy in that game and it's jsut full on 2003 Shredder's helmet. Addiitonally on target practise missions, it also uses straight up 2003 Shredder's design.

Great to get your views, as always. Tmnt had a UK release but it’s so tricky to find for some reason compared to the others. I’ll keep a look out as it looks very cool indeed

Fun fact actually: 🙂 the team that made the gba game of the 2007 movie ended up making shredders revenge, which I think is pretty cool, I do consider the 2007 game as a spiritual successor to the earlier konami classics *aside from Ubisoft making the 2007 game* that being said. I do enjoy the 2003 turtle games from konami, sure they may have not gotten the love as the 80's turtles did in terms of the games, but I do find them fun *and flawed* in their own unique way, and look at the bright side, konami did make more turtles games after 1994, and eventually the 2007 game made way for shredder's revenge, 🙂

Hey dude! I just saw your video after searching KZbin for a list of the GBA Turtles games. I absolutely appreciated your ranking. I am going to see TMNT Mutant Mayhem (from the year of this comment), and have been on a major Turtles kick. From replaying my old NES games, the Cowabunga collection, and wanting to play Shredder's Revenge at one point. Thanks for making this list. Been replaying my GBA, and wanted to get more games. Hopefully the re-sale prices on these titles are still manageable unless they reached Earthbound-levels of resales. I really like your summary on these games. They are in-depth, but concise enough to get a quick overview.

Really wish they would have! However, since these focus more on the 2003 show I can see why they didn't. The collection tends to focus more on the 80s/90s series

I actually like TMNT 2 a lot. Its definitely not for everyone, but I find it to be a enjoyable game.

Grew up watching 2003 Tmnt on Saturday mornings was amazing surprised they were able to air most of it uncensored for the most part heard the 2012 version on Nickelodeon was solid mutant mayhem was good heard it's getting a sequel ❤❤

Before shredders revenge the TMNT gba game was my favorite game. I just thought it had really bad bosses and no multiplayer. But everything else is perfect. But shredders revenge blows it out of the water

the first self titled game has a smooth battling system and outstanding soundtrack, too bad the sequel did not follow the same formula

Hey there! 👋🏻 I was scouring KZbin for a decent review or tier list of these totally radical GBA gems! If I had to comment on each game myself, going in the order you ranked them: Too ambitious, but I personally think one thing worth commending is how many levels there are to play. Basically the same thing, but much more controlled, as I can see the sheer number of levels in Battle Nexus being overwhelming for most. Definitely a must have, especially given the fact that the devs who made Shredder’s Revenge made this game. Closing off this comment, great tier list, and might I suggest checking out the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games?

@@Ogles You’re incredibly welcome, my friend! If I had to rank the DS and 3DS games myself: DS: 3rd: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade Attack. While not that fun of a game from a gameplay standpoint due to how clunky the execution was, the actual story, which was made to be darker in tone, is meant to be a nod to the original comics, right down to the black and white artwork that was made specifically for the game, rather than reusing old panels from the comics, and an interesting tidbit about the game’s story is that it was written by Sam Regal, who was the voice actor for Donatello from the 2003 animated series. 2nd: TMNT. It’s a very experimental game, what with how ambitious it was in terms of the semi open world gameplay style and the quick time events in which you hold down on a certain button in order to do an acrobatic move. Overall, it’s all right. 1st: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare. I’d argue it’s better than the first two GBA games, especially because, much like Battle Nexus, you have a lot more levels to play, but this time around, you can find secret exits that lead you to alternate levels, which is really cool! 3DS: 3rd: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Danger of the Ooze. It’s more of a side scroller than a beat em up, so that’s why I’m putting it this low, as I can see the lack of enemy encounters boring people who want to play something, you know, action packed? There are some good things that I can say, thankfully, such as how I love the way the music shifts from normal to really frantic when you fight an enemy, (I’m just a huge fan of games with diegetic music like that) you level up gradually the more enemies you defeat and by extension the more experience you gain, and the voice acting is top notch. 2nd: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (based on the Nickelodeon version). It’s fine, but I feel like enemy waves can kinda drag on way too long. I will say this, though: I love being able to fling an enemy right at the center of the screen, because every time, I’m like “bye loser!” 😂 1st: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (based on the 2014 movie). While it’s kinda similar to the last entry I mentioned, it’s a lot more engaging and balanced, especially because enemies don’t bombard you that much anymore, only appearing in small groups at the very least, so that’s something I can deal with, the ability to switch between each turtle on the fly is super useful, although you can’t spam this feature, requiring you to plan accordingly as to who you’ll need in what situations (the last entry also had this feature, I completely forgot to point that out! 😅) such as Donnie having the best range for attacking from a distance and Raph being best used for close quarters combat, just as examples, but the one thing this game has over the prior entry is a weapons crafting system, whereas before you just spent currency on ability upgrades and that was it, this time you can combine certain materials to make more powerful weapons. So yeah, I’d highly suggest checking those out when you can and one last thing, if I remember correctly, that Double Pack for the Game Boy Advance supposedly has revisionary changes made to both games included, but I’d have to look it up again when I can and get back to you on that. U missed the third entry of the game called “TMNT 3 Mutant Nightmare” which is the sequel to the “TMNT 2 Battle Nexus”… It came out on GBA as well as DS

Eh, still could’ve included it to make this more complete. Maybe a 2000s handheld TMNT collection or something
