I'm 72 now also. This is STILL one of my all-time favorite songs. The organ coming in during the last 1/2 of the song (on the original recording, not in this performance) adds a lot to the feel of the song. Couldn't be better.

It's all I -played through high school in the 60s and 70s...many laughed, as they were into Hendrix, and Zeppelin, but in 2012, I did a benefit concert for children's summer art, and music fund. We raised 15 grand, and opened with this song. I waved the audience of 1700 to sing with us in the chorus, and we brought the house down. We even paid ASCAP/BMI.

I remember the first time I ever heard that.. I was riding around with my older brother in his 69 roadrunner.. and he had a blue 8-track creedence Clearwater revival tape and we would ride around and listen to that over and over.. it had who will stop the rain and all the good ones.. you had to play the whole track.. you had to play the whole track.. and then change the tracks so it will come back around and you can hear it again.. the 8 tracks are a far cry from what the CD is today.. they just don't know how good they got it playing anything over again after you just listen to it..we had to wait and work for it to listen to anything over again after you just listen to it.. but I wish I could go back and live those times over again that was the best.. a more laid-back simple life.. it seemed like everything was a lot better.. I wouldn't mind at all waiting on that 8 track to play something over again..wow.. what I would give..

Someone told me long ago There's a calm before the storm, I know It's been comin' for some time. When it's over, so they say, It'll rain on a sunny day, I know It's shinin' down like water. I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain? I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain Comin' down on a sunny day? Yesterday, and days before, Sun is cold and rain is hard, I know It's been that way for all my time. 'Til forever, on it goes thru the circle, fast and slow, I know It can't stop, I wonder. I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain? I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain Comin' down on a sunny day? Yeah! I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain? I want to know, Have you ever seen the rain Comin' down on a sunny day?

I'm 27 years old, this song means so much to me. Music has a way of becoming representative of moments of emotional significance to you. At 17 my girlfriend and I would drive around back-roads at night, having a joint and whatnot. We'd almost always play this in the car and hold hands while it was playing. It's one of those memories I'll never forget. The euphoria involved with this recording and the amazing times I experienced while hearing it will never be forgotten. Even though her and I have moved on from one another, this recording still always makes me think of those amazing times. It's crazy how important music can be to someone.

Saw John in Dublin not long before the pandemic hit. He is 10 years older than the above but still has a great voice. I hope I am rocking and rolling like him at 75!

He still has that great voice! So many of his contemporaries have lost theirs. Superb singer, superb writer.

Best.rockvoice.ever. Bar none. And to think he was in his early twenties and already *had* that voice.

Had front row seats to see John and CCR in January of 1970 ( the 29th or 30th ), at the Oakland Arena ( now Oracle ), the night before I left for Southeast Asia. Terrific concert!
