lmao the haters are delusional 😂 Misty's Backstory contain her development(leaving her home on her own after what she faced), her flaws which carried for her development(her Gyarados fear, impatience) & her core trait of personality(anger issues & insecurity) which fleshed out unlike some Pokegirl who had no impact on their backstory except leaving home after seeing a guy but not for what they faced 🤭 Nor their characters flaws of being lazy were fleshed out.

@@Anipoke-Center Not sure if you're referring to May or Serena regarding that last bit, but agreed either way (I personally felt May was even WORSE on that bit. Say what you will about Serena, at least Serena wasn't shown to hate Pokemon for no real reason and didn't randomly decide that Ash saving Pikachu made being a trainer worth it despite literally already heading over to Professor Birch by that time). Probably the only Pokegirls who got anywhere close to, if not actually exceeding Misty's character development are Iris and Lillie.

Misty is the best written character in pokemon, better than Ash, Brock or anyone else. This video taught me that she grew up in other places, I always thought about her relationship with psyduck and Ash. Misty is the best. Amazing work❤

Regarding the Gyarados fear, it wasn't just in Johto either: It was actually first hinted at as early as Pokemon Shipwreck way back during the Indigo League. It's not as apparent in the English dub due to Misty screaming upon evolution "Now you've done it! Magikarp has evolved into Gyarados!", but the Japanese version has her being oddly quiet and subdued when learning James accidentally caused his Magikarp to evolve by kicking it right up to her yelling that her strategy was to flee. A bit comparable to Vegeta's reaction to Broly when he went Legendary Super Saiyan in Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan. And yes, overall, I definitely agree that Misty's development is severely underrated (though I wouldn't necessarily say she turned her duty into her goal, just incorporated her duty into her actual goal. Let's not forget, she still made it very clear that she's mostly doing the gym duty due to her sisters, and her Water Pokemon Master goal was strongly implied to be Elite 4 or Champion level. And besides, it's debatable whether she's still a Gym Leader as of MPM due to the way she was talking to Ash when revealing his winning that Monarch tournament inspired her to resume her Pokemon journey, that and both MPM and Alola, Alola implied that her sisters grew competent enough at battling and gym duties that Misty actually COULD afford to vacation at Alola, much less embark on a journey without either needing to worry about the gym OR have her sisters force her to return either, also her pointedly NOT alluding to gym duties at any point in the final episode of Ash's run, which prior times she left she at least did mention them in some form.). And while I'm not so sure if Misty actually developed love for Ash, I WILL say she definitely developed to be a very good friend to him. That said, she definitely would have most likely received even MORE development, including a far more direct conquering of her fear of Gyarados, maybe even a similar explanation for her fear of bug-types and to an extent conquering them via Surskit had she stayed on the show rather than unceremoniously dumped as a result of quarreling amongst the anime writers and staff. Oh, and also confronting bad people who used Water Pokemon and having some degree of inner turmoil and conflict via Team Aqua as well.

Her sisters, i might say were jealous of her many potentials aka beauty, battle skill and intelligence. I mean i can see where their jealousy came from. Even at 10 yo, Misty is already incredibly beautiful as having many suitors and men hitting on her left and right, even a grandpa. Her sisters were definitely felt threatened, knowing Misty will outshine their fame and beauty when she grows up. And at 10 yo Misty was already a much more competent battler than them, even winning trophy and gain Mega Evolution at such young age compared to the bitter sisters. What more, Misty's intelligence has jump-started the Cerulean Gym (her sisters were such a disappointing failure at battle and their life) to the point she has gained enough money to renovate the gym and made it a true famous water gym. Her sisters? Taking her for granted and enjoying their life on vacation all the time. Misty >>> her jealous bitter sisters

Wow so beautifully mention.People always compare her with other poke girls (mostly Serena) in terms of beauty & kindness. Like plz even i admire other girl but man u can't just stop yourself admiring her when she let her hair open. And kindness they say don't forget Serena and most of the pokegirl (expect Iris) are shown kind hearted from the beginning. But these 2 Misty and Iris are build different Misty being dashing Tomboy and Iris being easy yet stubborn girl they change a lot....Specially Misty I love how u mention all the fact one more thing the Togepi which she was fighting with Ash for, she end up saying her goodbye that was the most hardest part .....I just love all pokegirls but MISTY is still love bez she is the only pokegirl who had the most screen time showing her valuable importance in Pokemon Journey of Ash ❤
