I think the name ZIB for the dog would be cute! For historical context, the USSR used a lot of dogs in their Soviet space programs, like the famous Laika, the first animal to orbit Earth. While some stories were very tragic and the dogs didn't survive (including Laika), most lived and would even go on multiple flights or be adopted by scientists working on the programs. Now, a flight was set for September 15, 1961, and the dog that was supposed to go, named Bobik, ran away shortly beforehand. An untrained street dog was found near the barracks and chosen to take Bobik's place so as to not delay the launch. The name ZIB (or ЗИБ in the Russian alphabet) is just an acronym for a phrase meaning "substitute for the missing Bobik." ZIB successfully made the flight 100 kilometers up and back. Seeing as your dog just suddenly showed up at your base, I thought it matched ZIB's story and would be a sweet little tribute to the animals that pioneered our journey into the night sky.

The armadillo idea is so good, they would be perfectly camouflaged with all the packed mud in the area and they'd help bring more animal life into the base! Just gotta be careful that they don't wander into the wither roses if you're gonna let them free roam

The armadillo makes for a great companion, it is sturdy yet oddly cuddly and only requires a helmet for oxygen supply to be able to join astronauts on developing worlds. However, it's against gigacorp regulations to bring them on gigatrucks as they tend to hide away in the machinery where they hibernate in the warmth until landing, at which point they exit and multiply swiftly on a world where there is no natural predators to keep them in check.

When you drop items into water elevators, they will be collected upstairs at hopper speed. But minecart will pull them 8x hopper speed. That's why hoppers were empty. Also, if you throw whole shulkerbox at once, items may despawn before hoppers will have a chance to collect them Consider installing fast shulker unloaders and throw full shulkerboxes

I love the lore of GigaCorp being a little bit old fashioned because of how long it takes things to go through space!!! The smelter itself is such a cool design, I love the combination of manual input, efficient furnace and minecart distribution, and fancy display of the output!! I love the new smelter! It gave me an idea, i think if you were to swap the quartz blocks behind the Acacia trap doors with Honey blocks, the items will fall slowmo as they slide down the honey.

I love the concept of throwing items in to be smelted. After you mentioned it last episode, I got inspired to see how fast a furnace array could get a single stack of items smelted and back to the player. Between dropping the full stack directly into a minecart hopper and yeeting the smelted items back to the player managed to get a full stack done in about 30 seconds. A bit niche of a use case but fun to work on.

Ren Diggity Dog! The H.E.A.T. looks majestic and should be super useful; as for alien-looking animals for the biome, would Armadillos work? Those should be out with the update, and you could use some armor for the doggo. You just need Spider Eyes to breed them and a Brush to get Scutes Also, conveniently, you can craft Granite with Diorote and Nether Quartz; loving the work this season

I'm not even sure if this is possible or how it'd be done myself, but now that the server is on 1.21 and the Hermitcraft server has access to the new dog armor, if you can change the armor texture you could use the item to give GigaDog a diamond-encrusted protective cyborg visor just like the one on your new skin. I personally vote for the name Copernicus- interplanetary explorer's best friend, indeed!
