We're in Ohio, right on Lake Erie. We often call the May Flies, "Muffle Heads". Anyway - we get them so thick on the lake, that the Toledo and Cleveland radar pick up the swarms. The swarms are so large and so thick that it looks like rain on the radar...but nope, just more Muffle Heads... oh boy the smell....

Here in Ireland,as i live like you beside the lake of Lough Derg ,we too have May fly ,but they different,have long tails and large wings,but they make great fishing bait for brown trout,so fishing is in full spin here at the moment,👏👏🙏🏻🙏🏻🇮🇪☘️dougo fixit??🤔🤔😂😂

Have a wonderful special day Amy!!!!! I trust you have had nice times with your family today. Do enjoy!!!!! Second. Dougo I fully understand your frustration with things not being right on the house. I think your hone is absolutely beautiful and what a nice home you have. Some things around a home, especially outside things, are hard to keep exactly the way we want them. The siding brick around that meter and that piece of sidewalk broken are just part of having a home and harsh weather and all that. You have pointed them out to us but really, if I was just visiting your home I would never know things like that nor probably not pay any attention to them. You are just like me in wanting things to be just so but sometimes oh what the heck, it is fine the way it is. Dougo you are the best and I love the way you care and take care of things but the little piece out of the sidewalk is ok. I would do just what you did, glue the big piece back on and call it good. 😊 👍 Love that shirt you have on. The mailman-yeah!!!!!! I bet Rick the mailman is happy you are wearing it. I love history, when I see ancient tribes who worshipped snakes, reptiles, dragons etc it makes wonder then what “serpent” was in the garden. I know Doug & I were both born in Nov ‘68, same age. I can tell you Amy, I find myself more often getting in the kitchen & getting distracted. We have a “accu-simmer” burner on our stove with a flame so low it’s hard to see….well, I’ve left it on for 24 hours twice this winter. Nothing on top of it or anything. I do take the food off & put it away. I’m always trying to keep my husband’s food warm until he gets ready to eat. We have a single sandwich panini pan. Not long ago, I was heating it up. I heat up both sides before using it. Well….I was hearing it up, got distracted by the dogs ….& now it’s black. Again. No food inside. My husband is 8 years younger then me. Since we met in ‘96 I tell him, wait til your my age. Then, I told you when he is!

Bugs you have are Chironomidae, lakefly. Mayflies are larger about the length of a yellowjacket with single pair of wings that look like a dragonfly's, and the long tail Dougo was talking about from Northern Minn.

The food that is made from the cactus is called no-pa-lee-tos and only the tender shoots are used for that, the ones that are more tha a year are too tough for cooking .
