especially cause Junie B. could have easily been a narcissistic demon who the reader is supposed to be mad/annoyed with, she's flawed and individualist (as most children are) and improves when she's taught correctly and approached as an intelligent human, not a stupid child.
@elsie87573 күн бұрын
@@ambabey0330 Well, I mean, the books are _for_ kids around Junie B.'s age, so I don't think the goal would've ever been for the reader to find her annoying. But a lot of IP's try to make relatable/realistic kid characters and _fail,_ so I'm glad these books didn't fall into that trap.
@ambabey03303 күн бұрын

The "Where's the bus going to" interaction from Stupid Smelly Bus spoke to my SOUL as a kid. Adults really will just... not acknowledge kids questions sometimes. Also when I was little I didn't know how the whole Miss Ms. Mrs. thing worked and in my head the teacher's name was consistently pronounced "miss" and I didn't find out I was wrong until watching Lulaloopsey and Athena's videos now as an adult.

I spent a lot of time at her house as a kid, and we didn't see eye to eye on a lot of the things I liked at the time. She hated Spongebob, thought Hannah Montana was annoying, and didn't get the general concept of Club Penguin or Webkinz. And boy, she put on a performance every time she read them too. I mean, the way she made these characters leap of the page with her performances, was everything to me, it was truly camp and 6 year old me LIVED every time she pulled those books out. The first book she read to us was “The Monster Under The Bed” book and it scared the hell outta me as a kid. I could not sleep for weeks because of that book.

I recently realized Junie B. may have unknowingly saved Ollie from dying of SIDS. In Junie B. Jones and Some Sneaky Peeky Spying, she spies on Ollie while he takes a nap, then gets bored and wakes him up, meanwhile the illustration shows Ollie sleeping on his stomach, which in babies increases the chance of SIDS. Also, in Junie B. Jones Has a Monster Under Her Bed, I've always had this nagging feeling that Junie B. insisting that female Tyrannosaurus Rexes are called "Tyrannosaurus Dotties" is a reference I don't get, like there's some sort of connection between "Rex" and "Dottie".

Did I expect my two favorite nostalgia creators to collab? No. Am I going to stop everything I was doing to watch it. Hell yeah!

3:01 "Oh, it's so great to meet you, Athena!" "P!!!" "What, like right now?-" 6:25 7:28 "I guess if you name your child William, the higher your chances are of your kid having depression-" 8:23 "The music sounded good, and the characters were fun. Cynthia Revo painted herself green for Alphabet, and Ariana Grande was really cool as Linda. But I think she painted herself too because she usually doesn't look like that-" 17:03 "This is written SO well, like kids are just out of pocket like that sometimes-" "I DIDN'T COME OUT OF A POCKET!" "...so you know how Lucile's dad isn't a potato?-"

The copy of 'Junie B Jones and Some Sneaky Peaky Spying' at my school library had a slight cat pee smell. You could smell when someone was reading it in class.

If Junie B had access to swear words she'd be too powerful

Athena p, I don't know if you've ever read them but you should totally read the Anne of Green gables books. The first one is the most iconic so I feel like everyone thinks of her as being a kid, but we see her grow up into a teenager and then go off to college and then settle down and become a teacher and raise kids. It's the perfect example of a series where you get to see a character grow up and live her life. And despite being over a hundred years old LM Montgomery's writing style is absolutely beautiful. Avonlea has got to be one of the most beautiful places I've read about in fiction. It's kind of perfect. I bet that's what heaven would look like, avonlea.

I don’t know why but the whole Judy B tantrum on the bus thing kinda remind me of me in high school when I cried because of my teacher Miss G and she said Hunter kids in high school don’t cry …… also i’m gonna be honest this is the first time I ever heard of Judy B Jones

I just remembered these books like 4 days ago when I saw them in the background of someones short, and now THIS!? These books (along with magic tree house) were my autistic fixation throughout elementary school and I'm so glad they are getting some love again~

This was literally my favorite book series as a child! I recently gave some of my old Junie B. Jones books to my little sister. And she loves the series, too! Edit: I bought some of the other Junie B. Jones books, since the ones I had were both from the kindergarten and first grade books. So, I made sure it made sense, lorewise, for her.

My second-grade teacher would read these books to us, and I read them on my own later and loved them! Also, my favorite joke from any of these books is in the Christmas one; They have that store where they can buy presents for the others, and a volunteer says her son is a grade above them, so they may know him. One kid raised his hand and said "Yeah, he stole my milk money! I told the principal, but I never got the money back." She is obviously embarrassed, but later when they come back, he mentions it again, and she sighs, pulls a dollar out of her purse, gives it to him, and tells the other volunteers that she's taking a break! Made me laugh so hard! 😂 I almost think her son beat the kid up too, but I could be wrong, it's been a while.
