Let’s bow to the Blackberries: Venetta Fields (an ex-Ikette), Clydie King (an ex-Raelette), and Billie Barnum (replacing Sherlie Matthews). The Blackberries recorded a full album backed by Humble Pie, but it was never released. They also sang for Pink Floyd, Ringo Starr, Steely Dan, Captain Beefheart (!), Barbara Streisand, and a great many others. Legends!

How about them Blackberrys?
@fenderbender9099 ай бұрын
Were they singing live here over a pre-recorded instrumental track? I think that was pretty common for these types of TV shows. At @0:36 the bass note sounds like the root note of the F# minor chord, but the bassist doesn't appear to be playing anywhere near an F# position. Or maybe it is entirely live and they fixed the flub in the mix? I'm just curious.
@mikeowen11929 ай бұрын
You mean you can't tell that's totally live, I can and I play in a pub band wish we could be half as good, they are a world class band,
@fenderbender9099 ай бұрын
@@mikeowen1192 How do you explain @0:36, since apparently you are some kind of expert?
@JugaJuga149 ай бұрын
Alright sassy, the most likely explanation is that these shows usually has a couple of takes to choose from, so the shot of Greg may have been from take 1 (with the bass mistake) but the rest of the video and audio was from take 2. Not certain but just a theory.
@fenderbender9099 ай бұрын
@@JugaJuga14 It's possible, but I don't know if they would typically do multiple takes. You're right though, it could even be video edited in from a different point in the same take. I'm quite certain it was fairly common to pre-record an instrumental track and do the vocals live over it for TV performances.
@John-fv8sc2 ай бұрын
Yea I don't think that's the case they are clearly playing live
