Fantastic playing as always! It is a fine guitar, but I think most folks by a Martin for status. Of course the satin finish is a great trick on the public. It is much more difficult to lay down a great gloss finish. It takes years to develop the skill. On the other hand, just about anyone, even robots can hose a guitar with a satin finish. You always do a great job with any demo. Thank you Jon!

I bought a DX-1 Martin around 10 years ago. I played it for about 3 years and fell in love with it. I ended up getting in a tight and had to sell it. I tried to play lower end guitars like a Fender CD model and it sounded so empty compared to the Martin. I slowly quit playing all together. Fast forward 7 years later and i bought my dream guitar. A D-28. But when i sit down to play it was much much harder than i thought it'd be. And i felt like i didnt have the drive i once had to play. So i stuck it back into it's case where it sits today. Its been over a year since i got it. I really want to start back playing. I miss it so much. I really wish i had another X series Martin. It'd be perfect to start back over on. Im afraid the D-28 will get scratched or worst. I feel i made a poor choice buying a high end guitar when i havent played in 7 years. But having a Martin that was made in the Nazareth factory is what i really wanted. I guess i gotta take that chance because videos like this one really gives me that itch to start back playing lol.

I own a D-28, but honestly I think the D-18 sounds a bit better. Mahogany is just a better tone wood over rosewood. But man do I love the look of the D-28. With the rosewood and white binding. The D-18 is also a beautiful guitar. I just favored those features over the darker redness of the 18 with the black binding. But it's Martin's best sounding guitar imo. Again, imo you can't go wrong with either.

Both the Aged and the Ambertone are pictures that Martin puts on the wood. The aging is not a darker stain.

Wait what? I've never in my life heard Martin putting pictures on guitars lol. Its the stain 100%. Its the toner and stain. What model are you talking about? I'm assuming something low end in the Martin catalog? Maybe that street guitar or whatever

He has it all wrong. The aging toner is a real toner. The amber tone and the street series are ink put on the top

I would like your honest opinion; in the past I have already asked for some advice on the Martin and I'm still trying to figure out which could be my best purchase between a HD 28 or a D28 between a D 35 -HD 35 or get this one which is a Satin D28. Now that you've played it, would you trade your Martin for this one? If you had to buy your Martin again, would you choose this instead of your D28? I would like to understand if I would find the real Martin sound I only have a Martin guitar but it will never be at the level of the iconic guitars that we all dream of and which are the D28 the d35 the D42 or the D 45...(!!) This is the my dilemma. I have to spend a lot of money and I don't want to regret it; would you recommend it to me? do you think it is on par with the others? Thanks for any response. Ciao!! I totally understand.. I had the privilege to be able to try a whole lot of Martin guitars before deciding on the D35. The closest contenders were the D18, D28 and the Streetmaster D15M ✌️❤️

So I understand that this Martin Satinato is not on the same level as your D 35: right? 😉 I don't want to embarrass you and make you say something that would go against the sponsorship of this guitar but, I think you do a great job not only for dissemination and advertising and therefore for all those like me who don't have the opportunity to try a guitar first honest advice is of vital importance even if tastes are subjective, I think there is little that is subjective and preferential when it comes to a Martin that sounds good and one that sounds different and perhaps doesn't even seem like the classic Martin sound that we all seek namely: what seems to sound like a Piano. So excuse my insistence Would you recommend the D35 or this D 28 Satinato? 🙃 A hug...
