He became famous in France, he spent 2/3 of his life in France, made most of his humorist career in France, his jokes are all about french culture. And yet he was born in morocco so... he is both french and moroccan, and it doesn't really matter.

Its funny how everyone is trying to prove he is from a certain country and not the other - He is a human like any other, where he is born shouldn't be used to define him. We need to stop labelling people because of their race, ethnicity or religion. Each person has their unique personality and that's the only way we can know who they truly are.
@psalm11628 жыл бұрын
Gawhar Ghazanfar it is a fact that he is french and moroccan (and aslo probably canadian). However I find it unfair to mention his french nationality and not his moroccan one. is it something that he should be ashamed of? or it is because Morocco is a poor north african country full of muslims so it may harm his reputation. it is very odd because in his show in french he always talks about his moroccan origin.
@lejebli7 жыл бұрын
hi is not french , he is morrocan first and canadien after .
@moiseman7 жыл бұрын
He has the French nationality and Morroco isn't mentioned because it's irrelevant, he studied acting and became a comedian in France, that's where he made a name for himself. By the way, people who try to take pride in someone's else work just because they share the same nationality are pathetic losers.

So we need to stop "labelling people" but at the same time we have to be proud about our roots and of who we are. This society is getting difficult to follow... Can't we just be who we are and everything is fine? I'm french, I love Gad Gad Elmaleh, he his Moroccan and french, that's who he is. It's not a label.

wo don't mind if he is french or moroccan: so, he is moroccan but studied in Morocco in a french school, with a french culture really present in this country, because of french protectorate until 1956 i think. Then he's gone in Canada, Québec, where french is spoken; since he is living in France, he collects french girls friend, and have some french babies! and there is a jjewish culture in France, and also in showbusiness. we can say he is international, isn't he? he plays with Arab and quebec accent and lives in France from a long time . I think, like a lot of binationals, it's better to be french or morrocan according to opportunities!!!
