Just listened to the actor playing Art. He was talking about the scene where the woman is hanging upside down, and what a nightmare it was for her. It took 5 hr to shoot, if I remember right, they could only shoot 30 seconds at a time, because she was hanging upside down. They would lower her, cover her up, then raise her up again, shoot a little more, then do it all over again. it was in January with no heat, he said it was like 20 degrees and she was all but naked. He said they tried to make her as comfortable as possible given that she was in that position with a room full of men, cold, plus "blood" was running in her mouth, nose. He said what a trooper she was. She was all for it though, because she knew how big this scene was going to be in the movie.

I watched an interview with the actress and she was very proud of the scene. She also praised the filmmakers and other actors for making it fun and enjoyable on set. It made the scene a little bit less horrifying knowing that the actress had such a blast with it.

I am a big slasher fan, especially the super gory grindhouse stuff and I thought Terrifier was really good, disturbing and entertaining... but it wasn't "great". Terrifier 2 was an improvement in everyway and was a joy to watch. Funny and clever and the story was expanded and explained in a way that Art is one or two movies away from becoming a slasher icon up there with the best of them. Cant wait for you guysto watch.

I saw this movie alone the year it came out, had never seen or heard of it. Afterwards I thought…Wow that’s a very low budget movie but WOW Art the Clown is on his way to being THE horror icon of this generation. After researching the people and what went into the movie, I’m so glad that Terrifier is finally getting the amount of recognition and status that the creators deserve. Even getting a sequel which is hot in theaters right now.

To sum up the confusion with the timeline. Art kills the doctor at the end. Which is before Vicky (older sister) does the interview. Which leads to the next day where Art is setting up his makeup, watching the interview, which it then cuts to the interviewer making fun of Vicky and hating on her face, which then leads to Vicky killing her, showing she is forever scarred and mentally unstable for the rest of her life. (Even further proven by part 2's insane post credit sequence)

People say it feels like an 80s horror movie. I strongly disagree. Movies like A Nightmare on Elm Street and Hellraiser are extremely slow and monotonous to get through, and they are only saved by the overall aesthetic of the villains. This movie is oscar worthy in its acting compared to those (though I do admit the main girls acting is bad). Idk, I think this movie is really creepy and the cheap sets work in its favor, therefore it is much better than a lot of horror films.

The way I thought about the intro (kicking the TV showing the interview) was that Art is back again, and saw the interview while preparing for another night of.. activity. Have not seen the sequel yet, so I don’t know if that interpretation has been confirmed or refuted. It’s a fun, brutal film (that I don’t feel a need to rewatch anytime soon), and Art is delightfully deranged. There was just no way to predict what he was going to do next! And I had the exact same reaction as Bridget during that saw scene. “I’m just gonna cross my EVERYTHING in sympathy and squirm the entire time.” It was SO unsettling! Interesting(?) side note, death by sawing used to be a legitimate way of execution in medieval Europe and parts of Asia. Aren’t you glad to live in modern times after all? 😅

Art the Clown started with his own short: Terrifier The Short, it's free on Tubi. They added him into All Hallow's Eve which not only shows the short but has him in more than just that segment though. So if you watch All Hallow's Eve you would have already seen it as well, it's the gas station segment. If you watch the short by itself (on Tubi), they play the short twice but the second time it features commentary from the Director Damien Leone and the original guy who played Art The Clown, Mike Giannelli. He was Art in the short and All Hallow's Eve. Unfortunately, he retired from acting so Art was recast for the Terrifier films (1 and 2), now played by David Howard Thornton. I can't wait because the 3rd one will be out on October, 11th of this year, 2024!

I'm glad to hear there's more story to part 2. Maybe I'll watch it now. This one was just a series of death scenes with nothing even connecting them, so I understand why you didn't get through it the first time. He seemed to be just some guy in a clown suit, so I couldn't figure out why nobody just took him down. It never explained anything, so I was pretty disappointed by the end.

2 was lightyears more structured than 1, if you haven't watched it yet. I will add that The Terrifier films aren't Art The Clown's 1st appearances though so a lot of people don't understand him as well. If you watch anything else, you should watch the commentary on Terrifier The Short, it's free on Tubi. The short plays twice and the 2nd time it plays is when they added commentary from the Director Damien Leone and the Original Art The Clown, Mike Giannelli. I have copied what I wrote in another comment for the film order so you don't have to hunt it down, also all of these are on Tubi for free, not just the short: Art's film order: is the short film: Terrifier The Short All Hallow's Eve (there are 2 but he's only in the 1st one, enjoyed 2 a lot as well though) I liked the backstory in 1 and the shorts more in 2. Also, the Terrifier films make nods to these films which was pretty cool. The Terrifier films took characters and locations from these which was awesome to see! It's funny having watched them in order to then see people react to only Terrifier 1 and 2 and miss all the Easter eggs from the short and the All Hallow's Eve films, thinking that things are random. Terrifier 1 Terrifier 2 and then Terrifier 3 comes out on October, 11th, 2024 this year!
