There are a bunch of indie guys from back in the day who deserve a lot of praise for their innovation. Ruckus is top of that list for me but guys like Quiet Storm, Jody Fleisch, Homicide etc deserve their flowers.

@Max Green no one said it did. We were just saying the dude was innovative and entertaining. You dont have to be a good wrestler for everyone to have heard of you either. Case in point, goldberg, ultimate warrior, giant gonzalez, glacier, kevin nash. I could go on and on. None of them were good in the ring but still went far just as you can be good in the ring and not gonl as far. It's all about timing and opportunity. Some get it, and some don't. Doesn't take anything away from any of them.

@damiencross7334 Folks like that seem to think wrestling is a meritocracy when it most certainly is not. Luck is a big factor. Some of the best wrestlers I've ever seen never set foot in WWE. If you followed the indy scene back then (I was starting as Ruckus was in CZW) you knew who he was. Those guys and ROH were the innovators for what the WWE style became and still is to an extent.

Lucha libre is cringe to watch anymore. There are some cool spots, but that's about it. Komander stood on Gringo Loco's shoulders for about 10 seconds so he could get his balance to do the poisonrana. Gringo just stood there and held him while making eye contact.
