Your "tight" issues can be fixed with a custom set up. Start with damping. Remember that bound is into a corner and rebound is out. Stiff is tighter and loose is softer. For rebound it's the opposite, naturally. Softer is tighter and stiff is loose. You can apply this to springs too, and eventually to sway bars, and eventually track bar (higher number is more loose) if you keep all of this in mind you can fine tune the car perfectly, and imo it's the most fun part of the game. Even if Radman doesn't need this maybe somebody does, so I'm glad to suggest options

Knee Pit Gaming, I use his Heat 4 set ups in Heat 5 and they work perfectly, sure you gotta test the wedge and maybe the gear ratios but other than that, they're amazing.

That's because it's litterally the exact same game, the only difference is that the menu says 5 instead of 4, even when you win in the truck series the trophy still says NASCAR Heat 4, it's just copied and pasted

At the screen where you choose to practice, qualify, or race, in the top right hand corner you need to make your setup loose so you can go faster but you will have less control over the car.

If you need setups, Knee Pit Gaming is the answer. You can get away with NH4 setups in this game so you can do that if he doesn’t have a Vegas setup for NH5 yet.

There is a hidden paint scheme in NASCAR heat 5 gold addition in Season mode if you choose Tony Stewart as your driver and after you choose the season if you cycle through his paint schemes going left there will be a blue ford Scheme with NASCAR Heat on the hood

Try setting all tires at 20 psi take alot of wedge out I haven't played heat 5 but any nascar game I've played it works for me I hope it works

If your loose on exit you take a pound OUT of the right rear. If tight on exit, you put IN a pound in the right rear. Hope this helps

The difficulty with career is wacky! I finished 7th there in a 4 star truck with hard difficulty and I did pretty much the same strategies as you. But that is a really big difference I don't get that.

So the main issues playin on high difficulty is the cars are way faster than you are to an almost impossible level not just in terms of qualify times but in terms of the car maintaining speed that it should have especially in a 5* ride

One of the main reasons I an very hesitant to buy another Nascar Heat game is the boring/dull nature of the handling and physics model. The cars or trucks just aren't fun or exciting to drive. The Eutechnyx games actually made me adjust and steer the car throughout a run and it felt realistically loose at times. Even the older EA Nascar games had differences between tight and loose depending on the tire wear. All i remember about playing Heat is the car constantly pushing up the track and destroying the tires and the AI not being effected at all.

I’d say, start with a looser preset and then tighten it up in the race, you’ll be faster than if you ran a neutral setup and loosen it.

If I use presets I go one click off absolute loose then lower rear psi by about .5 and it seems to hook and book. I prefer to tune shocks though

I know the AI at Las Vegas is way too over powered because heat 3 the AI felt a lot more fair to fight for the lead at Las Vegas but now it's impossible this is why I wish if the AI difficulty was like nascar 14 and 15 where it's numbers where you can put it to like a 70 something for example instead of having it like easy, normal, hard, legend.

Very late on this but I think the problem wasn't as much of a setup one. I think you were entering the corner too soon and too deep. You don't need to lose that much speed going into the turns at Vegas
