FORD; Im impressed, it just shows air bags and seat belts held driver going through windschield. Plus the hood design in a crash situation didn't get pushed through the wind schield.

Best advice when you're offroading: doesnt matter how skilled you think you are, what you're driving, or who you're with. KNOW YOUR DRIVING LIMITS AND VEHICLE'S LIMITS. Just because i have 4wd and off road tires on my Suburban doesnt mean i try to drive it like a pro rock crawler.

When I was there people were stuck everywhere. Then the people that were pulling got stuck. It is the only sand that I have been in that even with my lockers locked up, I preferred stopping on a downhill. The sand is so fine it is almost silt.

FYI... that tank hanging down was the black tank -- as in the septic (poop) tank. Definitely do NOT want to damage that one!! The water tank (as in, freshwater) would be likely mounted either up inside the frame, or inside the unit, possibly under the bed.

Ed has a good friend! Yep, he is the oldest and best looking guy there! I imagine it is pretty easy to get a RV stuck if you don't know the area or have any idea that you could be in trouble. It is like the snow in the winter up here in Canada on the prairies. You would think that because we have no choice but to drive in it during winter, most would be experts at it. Nope! It is the opposite for some reason. Love your channel & the great feeling & working relationship of your team and how nice you treat your customers, not making them feel bad or embarrassed for their dilemma!

The first one was possibly the most conventional recovery I've seen on this channel for awhile, still professionally done and with a crew that seems to actually enjoy each others company. The RV recovery had significant discussion and planning taking place and probablly would never had need for a comm, but things don't always go so smooth. Due to to MOR professionalism and experience things tend to smoothly. Still in most situations for most, that situation was a comm6.

If you carried an ARB X-Jack or Takla air-jack, you could lift vehicles/RVs, out of the hole a bit and then backfill under the tires to ensure the plumbing and stuff under from damage. The step of using an air bag lift, and placing the dirt back or whatever you need, under the tires would make much sense in many recoveries.

I worked for an RV rental company (outside the U.S.A.) Every bit of damage over head height or underneath was not covered by insurance and initially came out of the $2500 "bond" payment made at rental agreement signing time... Then whatever after that came out of the Credit Card..... Some of our renters had never driven anything bigger that a micro car on city streets in their home country......and on the opposite side of the road. But under our laws they could drive a 6 berth on that licence...

Watch your shows almost every day. You have a GREAT support crew and "team effort"... I used to 4whl a lot with family until they moved and went their directions. I have a fully original 1958 3/4T Ford truck. Brought up from Texas part by part and put together... added all the features; Pwr steer, disc front, AC, Pwr Brakes, 12T winch....etc. Was going to order the "rope" but I don't off-road so much now, but what do I do..? Anyhow....Keep up the HARD work... Say HI to the family..!

Mending fences between Matt and Eric. Hope all is well that ends well. Eric is a good dude. He helped recover me and my rzr at 2 am earlier this year. "Pick yer line" Eric says. That will keep ya going where you want to go.

Seems like a wildly inappropriate tool to me too, but Matt has said many times that these aren't "how to" videos, they're just " how WE do it". Next he'll probably try to use a ball hitch and a broken screwdriver to change out a set of brake pads.

the first recovery sure brings back some memories. spent a few years running both a medium boom ( like those Matt had on that scene ) and roll back. Always did enjoy that job. I will say this though, I did prefer the international 4200 chassis over the GM chassis on my boom truck.

My wife's cousin is kin to his stepbrother and they said you could get a body lift from quadratec for the XJ. So I called Matt's Offroad Recovery and they were sold out.

There was a guy stuck in soft sand here in the Mojave Preserve another guy showed up with a large bucket of tennis balls maybe 30 and put them in front of the rear tires, he drove right out craziest rescue I ever saw.
