Toriyama has influenced so much more than anime, his designs in Dragon Quest inspired Final Fantasy, Sonic takes a ton of inspiration from DBZ, and even Mario gets his run and design from Arale a character made by Toriyama before he made Dragon Ball. Vegeta and Piccolo coming out of the ice is never explained in the movie at all, so I love how TFS turned it into a joke by making it so that each of them decided to play a prank on whoever the first person to find them was by pretending to be some ancient evil hidden in the ice, and both being disappointed when it's people they know who found them so the prank won't work

The “for thousands of years I lay dormant” is a severely underrated joke, because it shouts out to various powerful characters being woken up after eons of time, and they also poke fun at it just a bit by not actually finishing the line. I enjoy using said line on occasion around the house, usually when my kids are asking me for stuff

Answering all of Mattables' questions week 31: 1. I appreciate that Toriyama brought us DBZ Abridged and many more series I love through the authors being inspired by Dragon Ball/Dragon Quest. 2. He said that whole monologue and line of questioning about the wedding out loud. 3. I feel like Corin is definitely the wife of the marriage. 4. Goku was thinking of Organic. 5. The trucker hat getting placed on the head was an edit. Him having the trucker hat is not an edit. 6. Yep these 3 are actual androids. No biological parts. 7. That's just Krillen's design. I don't think there's deeper meaning to his eyes. 8. I'm 100% sure he was screaming out of frustration, but your interpretation is funny. 9. The dog treat was not in the original movie.

Yeah the first episode of Dragon Ball. Bulma shoots Goku with a gun, and his response was "Hey, that hurt." His skin wasnt even broken. Hilarious. This is pretty common in Dragon Ball. Goku genuinely wrecks almost everything unless he is "hungry." Up until Mercenary Tao that is.

Very late, but. Is there ever an instance where the heroes come across a problem that they are wayyyy overqualified for? YES. But mostly in filler. Check out the days leading up to the Cell Games, where both Goku and Gohan deal with issues on a lower power level scale (one very funny, one poignant and meaningful). Or the Otherworld Tournament/Great Saiyaman arc before Buu starts. People complain about filler, but this stuff is so fun.

Mostly in original dragon ball or like anything with mr satan/hercule the problem in z is goku 1 is a bit of a masochist and want a fun engaging fight so like he'll purposefully start like on the lower side of judgement to keep the fight even as possible and train that level of himself and then boost as necessary to keep it even or find a new limit to defeat someone too powerful right so like this fight goku is in base regular old sayan mode now compared to most humans thats enough that a 5 year old sayan can defile them at will beat them till their body refuses to move pop a squat and defecate on their chest kinda power right most aliens make a base human look like jokes though at the beginning of dbz adult goku can only hit like kiyo ken x10 which is exactly how it sounds a technique that chanels his key to 10x his base line strength ect ect by the end of z most of his human training budies could probably bully series beginning goku with a hand behind their back and hes like got supper sayan 3 super sayan god and super sayan god super sayan also known as the fan dubed super sayan blue he still starts some fights as basic as sayan son goku against weaker opponents to keep the fights interesting even though he can chanel enough key to whipe out the existence of his own universe at that ending point and only some of the biggest multiversal threats can make him squirm and make him worried so thats part of the problem the other part is and im not sure but i actually dont believe like sayans are even the strongest basic mortal race but like they kinda have the Saitama trope of unlimited potential to the point where goku and vegeta are trying to Master key techniques only possible by immortal multiversal gods in dragonball super but like even freezas race stomps base monkeys thats why their planet went bye bye and hes one of the first villians to die to a super sayan

The sounds Android 14 makes are actually pictures turned into sound using PhotoSounder. You can reverse his sounds and get a hidden image! Fun Fact: The voice of Teen Gohan is not the usual MasakoX, but Justin Briner, who later became the English voice of Deku in My Hero Academia (2016). Justin Briner was going to voice Teen Gohan in the Buu Saga, but that clearly didn't happen. Ryan Palmer became the voice of Teen Gohan in the Buu Bits. You should know that I actually hate Spirit Bomb, so it should come at no surprise that I think Spirit Saiyan is super extra dumb.
