Well, to be fair self propelled artillery could in theory be used for direct fire. There are Videos of M109s and Panzerhaubitze 2000s practicing direct fire. Also, there's a lot about this game that makes far less sense like king tigers having to fighting alongside wiesels with 3rd gen thermals
