The Soviet RBT-5 rocket artillery tank is probably one of the dumbest tanks in War Thunder. I mean that in a good way. It's not only a lot of fun but also very meta since it is just a BT-5 with torpedos strapped to it. It's also surprisingly cheap for a rare event vehicle, only going for around 60 Gaijin coins.

Fun fact, when first introduced the rockets could depress to shoot at targets up close however people complained it was OP (understandable when you are shooting SturmTiger equivalent rockets at tanks with tinfoil armor played by Newbies), so they nerfed it to have +9 degrees of gun depression.

This thing isn't anything like the Sturmtiger, it's actually fun and useful. I didn't see you get shot in the rocket and blown up, and when you lob them randomly across the map, things actually have exposed crew to die to the explosion.

The sturmtiger is fun. You can catch people off guard by ambushing them and just blasting them in the face and being frontally impenetrable at an angle or sniping with the range finder

Sturmtigers also can just stay behind a treeline covered in 300 layers of bushes and get kills since they're basically *the* German artillery tank

Try the SU 122,it's a Russian TD who is at 2.3, its armor is crazy strong and the tank is very very fast, and its cannon destroys everything

This is my favorite tank in the whole game. I have the most matches and kills with it. (Edit): 2:30 The minimum range on level ground is exactly 252 meters. If you fire the rockets forward without adjusting the rangefinder, they will land 250m ahead.

The T-35 is my low tier tank of choice. Just a copious amounts of dakka and the guns punch very hard for 1.3.

I personally love the T-35 as much as I have love for the Porsche Tiger, the survivability in 1.3 is crazy (even if you’re a sandbag for half that time) and when you have all cannons facing the same way you feel like a landship

19 kills in one life is crazy. I remember the best match I ever had in pure kills was over 20, I think it was 22 but it also took 3 or 4 deaths. I did land an amazingly sweet IL-2 rocket as well, but most of the kills came from a T-50 so it was also low tier and Russian. But the worst part was my team still managed to lose lol. The game just favors APHE so stupidly in my opinion but the 45mm gun is definitely one of the best at low tier. It makes even really mediocre tanks like the T-26 viable.

Honestly I find the Vickers Mk. E perfectly acceptable as well with its 37mm Bofors, but then again I am used to dealing with silly cannons and I play the whole 6-ton lineup far too much in the first place. I don’t get why people say it’s a mediocre tank though.

@@NaturalGarethFan Is that the Finnish tank? The one the Russians copied to make the T-26? Because I too think that's a better tank than the T-26 but it's adequate. It doesn't do anything especially well but it does enough to be viable. The T-26 at least has the benefit of the game's ridiculous modeling of APHE. And just to clarify, I know the Vickers 6 ton was a British export tank, not a Finnish tank. I just meant in the game it only shows up in the Finnish subtree.

I have this tank, but rarely use it, but its stupid fun. On Cargo Port, i had capped the A point, and had eyes on a M8 that was across the road near B. So figured i would try and use the rockets. Launched one, hit the building three stories above him, and the splash damage alone killed him. And that was not adjusting the range.

In the olden days when White Rock was still in common rotation, using this on the earthen embankments around the fortress to kill 6.7+ you were a terror to king tigers.

I used to have the respawning vehicles/trees/debris quite often. Many games where I was using HE it'd even respawn before I reloaded, making certain shots completely impossible unless I could take it down with my MG (if I had one). That's one of many bugs Gaijin refuses to address and one of the reasons I don't play anymore.

you should do a colab vid with a few other dudes all with RBT-5s and just go to a captured point and spam rockets at a decided target at the rate you replenish them, you'd shoot a rocket every 4s absolute mayhem

You should play the British tier 2 Sarc MKVI 6Pdr. It is very fast ( I call it the Super Awesome Race Car ). It has the British 6 pounder and is very good for 3.3. It goes by no armor best armor and if you get shot in the turret you die no matter what ( 3 crew, 2 in turret). It’s got a .50 cal on top for AA and shredding milk trucks. It’s funny because it recoils a ton, and no matter what will land on its wheels probably to counter the recoil. I also think that the crusader II is fun. It’s I think 2.0ish and is super fast, good fun and I believe ( in a British tank) APHE. it is great for capping points, running along the sides and flanking the enemy.

Try the chruchill gun carrier. Its exactly the opposite of the kind of tank you lile, being a british heavily armored TD, but at 2.7 its basically invincible when angled and its gun is one if the few things capable or reliably wrecking stuG's and t-34 from the front

i would highly recommend using 2 buttons and mousewheel to set the range for vehicles like this, so for normal shots you can use mouswheel and for the rockets you can use buttons to quickly set it to a rough distance and correct with mousewheel

Credit where Credit's due, that Stuart at 8:15 knew how to be slippery. You can pen it's front with a pop tart, so it has to move in a way to minimize damage, and it did so. Your aim wasn't bad, he just swung around in directions to have you only kill one of his crew, not all of it. That's actually a pretty good play honestly.

what you do with the rockets is sit in a cap point so they reload and have a friend spot for you. They tell you how close you were to hitting. I did this in higher tiers and it was hilarious.
