I am a dark skinned lady and so proud!!! However, there is something I'd like to point out. Without sounding boastful, growing up i was always complimented on my looks and one day someone said to me that the reason why I'm attractive is because i have caucasian features i.e my nose, lips and facial structure. Tbh, i didn't find that a compliment. Now...if u look at all of the dark beauties in this video...they all have small features. So my point is, i am glad melinated skin is being more celebrated but what of other regions of Africa and the Caribbean where some people have strong larger features? We need to move away from this western ideal of beauty (small features) and see the beauty in other typical African & Caribbean features too. Whether it be fuller lips, a larger nose or whatever.... this is beautiful too. We have been so conditioned to believe only archetypal, western facial features is superior and the only real definition of beauty.

I am a mature Caucasian man and I must agree with you. That last young woman reminded me of the first time I saw the singer Chaka Kahn, I was stunned by her beauty with her very African features, her rich chocolate shin, full beautiful lips, broad and lovely nose, incredible almond eyes, strong white teeth and that voluminous, curly hair! When I was in high school (1973) I had a crush on a black girl in my class who was a cheerleader, very smart, president of the student body, etc. She had very, very dark skin, full lips, moderately broad nose, gorgeous almond eyes, and a beautiful smile, and a very outgoing personality. Yes, I have always seen the beauty in black people and I have always hated racism. I believe there is only one race and that is the human race.

@@inspiredmessenger haha thanks for your interpretation on aging. The more melanin, the darker your skin. The more melanin, the more the damaging rays of the sun cannot burn your skin. ''Black'' Americans are of African descent. Nationality doesn't matter here.

These ladies are beautiful. I am happy that we black women are learning to embrace ourselves. We were always beautiful. Unfortunately were were bombarded with images and society telling us that we ugly. I want to see these ladies also start to embrace their natural hair as well. I started my natural hair journey 2 years ago and I feel so much freer and happier than I have ever been before.
