@woodcutter610328 Thanks for watching. The tenor size is my all-round favourite uke.

@Kroffe75 GHS are OK. They get a bit of a bad press, but in the end they are just strings.
@KenMiddletonUkulele13 жыл бұрын
@jpablosnm Provided you deal with the nut issue, there is no problem. Unless, of course, the saddle is offset (compensated). If so, this would need to be "reversed" too.

I just ordered mine this morning. I had not heard you play in this video yet. Mine has the cutaway. I hope it sounds as good as the one you played.

This baritone has a lovely tone Ken. You're such a good advertisement for Ohana - if I ever wanted a baritone, I'd definitely consider this one after hearing you play it.
@KenMiddletonUkulele13 жыл бұрын
@emjenic There used to be a gloss version, but it is not a current model.

Ken, thanks for a calm review, thoughtfully organized. I appreciated it very much. I have an Ohana BK10. I retired and wanted something to learn. In time I will trade up to the BK35 . I’m leaning to the satin finish instead of gloss for a softer sound. Stay well.
@KenMiddletonUkulele3 жыл бұрын
The BK35 is a baritone that I still use regularly.Either the matt or glass would be a good choice. There is virtually no difference.
@KenMiddletonUkulele13 жыл бұрын
@freackykit I think the baritone strings may work better though, Chris. Tenor strings on a baritone body would change the balance quite a bit.
@freackykit13 жыл бұрын
Always enjoyable watching your review Ken. It is a lovely sound you get...Sure I read somewhere you coulod get traditional uke tuning strings for a baritone somewhere. The extra size could give more bass to a nice low g sound if so Chris

Lovely sound. I'm looking to upgrade from my Brunswick BU4B which has been amazing value for money but I'm looking for a softer tone. Your demo certainly suggests that the BK-35 is an instrument to seriously consider. Many thanks for your excellent, informative and enjoyable upload. I'm betting that you're a superb teacher with your gentle style.

A Ukulele novice I didn't realise that chord shapes I'm learning on a tenor could be played on a baritone.. albeit under different names. Thanks for that. Re: supply.... I want to get a solid wood Ohana but TK35s don't seem to be available in the U.K. ?? Are they coming?
@Kroffe7513 жыл бұрын
Nice review as always ken! Must say i'm not a big fan of GHS strings but they sound very nice on this baritone, a bit more mellow, jazzy even.
@KenMiddletonUkulele13 жыл бұрын
@jpablosnm It is not quite that easy. When you put the strings on upside down, the grooves in the nut will be the wrong size. The shop where you buy it may be able to do it for you though.

The 35 series from Ohana is far and away my favorite line among all models in this price point and even higher. So when I decided to buy a Baritone, after already owning an Ohana Concert 35 series Uke, this was an easy choice...

just started playing the ukulele. I bought a cordoba concert ukulele but I really want a baritone. I am looking at an Oscar Schmidt mahogany acoustic electric OU52E and the Cordoba baritone (looks like they only have one). I was wondering if you had a preference between these two or any suggestions for a new player like me in the mid range prices.

@rishiomedia California is probably the best state for buying Ohanas. No it is not a new model. Yu can use guitar books up to a point, but don't think of it as a small guitar. It is a ukulele.

I'm going use this vid to convince my husband he needs a uke. He's pro-uke, but learning something radically different from guitar tuning puts him off. This isn't radically different, and from my sk38, he knows how good an Ohana can be.

Very nice , I just got the bk-20 for the price which only has the solid top and the rest laminate. Nice enough sound and balance full solid. Still better than the cheap 150 all laminate ukulele Mahalo. I’m restricted by price unfortunately and 1 solid top adds to the quality of the sound. Bought from a shop so I could play and hear what I’m getting.

Forgive my question, but I was wondering about the very last note that was played in the opening tune. I am unable to locate any info on what that is, let alone how to do it, because I have no idea what it is called. Any help would be much appreciated... it has been weeks of searching with no results. Have a blessed day :)
