An in-depth guide to the most useful consumables in PvP. Being ready to use consumes in an important fight is a huge part of Vanilla. How do you get potions? Are you supposed to buy them from Alchemists i assume? Isn't it too expensive? I mean they are something you'll be using a lot in PVP

Either buy them on the AH or buy/farm the mats and have an Alchemist craft them for you. It does get expensive, so part of what's interesting about the meta is having to decide when it's worth it to pop consumes in a fight. Playing a WSG match against a premade, fighting for a World Boss, or winning a world PvP 1v1 against your arch rival are examples of times that many people will go ahead and pop the pot.

@@jurristi Its common etiquette to not pot in duels, unless agreed upon. Some are allowed by others players normally such as Warlock v Rogue they are each allowed a LAP(Living Action Potion) ((releases ZG)

I also love to use Elxir of Posion resistance on my priest when i get hit by viper sting. Since its an elixir, not a potion, it doesnt trigger the potion cd

Great Video as always I generally just watch and don't leave any comments but your content is super good. This is the stuff the people need to know about. The top PvP players will 100% have consumables on hand to win at all costs open world and in bgs. Can even save the one time only quest items you get while leveling and use them in pvp, Like Super Sticky glue from Durotar. Also I generally like to HARD NEED on items like Clutch of Foresite from Maleki the Pallid in Strat to counterspell people in pvp.

It's abit overwhelming when you look at all these consumables you need to utilize if you're gonna compete at the top. But that's vanilla i guess. I underestimated the insane amount of preparation this o'l game requires.

@6:30 You don't even need the Powerful ones. Strong anti-venoms dispell all rogue poisons as well and are way cheaper to craft! :)

The ability to play beyond your class with items available to anyone is one of the many reasons why vanilla is infinitely more balanced than people realize. When you play any class at a high level you start to get the feeling the game is magnitudes more balanced than you had imagined, and the devs have made this absolute masterpiece that everyone talks shit about because we were to stupid to play the game at a decent level until a decade later. Paladins are the best example of this because everyone thinks they're shit, yet they're the best pvp class second only to warlocks.

Very true. The Vanilla classes themselves are incredibly simple, but the game has unbelievable depth if you really push the limits and use all the available tools.

the game is grossly imbalanced. Aside from WSG where all classes have their specific spot, balance is a completely foreign concept in that game. Just see how mage (only viable class in zerg vs zerg) and rogue (only viable class in wpvp meta) shit on everything else. Also how do you come to the conclusion that paladins are "the best pvp class" rofl. They are super good support classes for wsg and good healers in general but that's it. You still need priests for offensive dispels. Warlocks are good deleters in wsg and duellers (except vs rogue, which means they can't win any duelling tournament because most of the playerbase is rogue ahah), but they are absolute garbage in massive fights.

you can protect pot bufs with low level elixirs as well, they are dirt cheap so carrying a stack or two might be a good idea

Thank you. Kind of off-topic, but can you list things that make you drop WSG flag? I know immunity effects and mounting up does, but is there more? I can't seem to find this info on the web. I once used BOP on a flag carrier which obviously didn't end well. I've since been on the edge with casting cooldowns on the FC which hampers my performance.

BOP, Divine Intervention, Invuln Pot, Ice Block, Vanish, Feign Death. You can however instantly repick the flag if you cancel these buffs quickly. You see me iceblock -> cancel -> repick in a lot of my footage, it is a very useful tactic. However it’s less reliable and more risky on the Classic client because clicking the WSG flag is batched. No matter how hard you spam click the flag it won’t pick up until the next server tick. On private servers it’s basically instant. Hope this changes because it lowers the skill cap and makes gameplay more random (which is never a good thing IMO)

@@OhhgeeHaptixGaming Thank you! Yeah I saw an FC pally pop Divine Shield to avoid a skill in a video and cancel it for repick instantly. It was very impressive! I hope spell batching and leeway doesn't make the gameplay in general feel janky, since that is exactly what it sounds like :/
