Here's my highly requested guide to premading Arathi Basin. AB has a lot of room for flexibility and experimentation in terms of class setup and strategies. This video provides a general overview of how you should approach a game against an organized enemy premade, as well as touching on how to consistently 5 cap PUGs. Topics covered range from team composition and early game setups to advanced tactics and class-specific plays.

You don't talk very fast but the points you're making are important. The pace around 5-6 minutes in tandem with the importance of the points makes it tough to follow without rewinding again and again. Keep it up!

I got some content ideas for you: Dueling series with commentary. also maybe a 1vx with commentary. take us through your thought processing and really breakdown what you do in x situation. also a mage pvp build/gear/spec vid. I really loved the skull of impending doom video. You can expand on that by making videos similar to it with other pvp items such as potions, etc.

looking at the map it looks like alliance is disadvantaged because of the entrance to the blacksmith is on the opposite side of more valuable lumbermill, making the triangle much easier to hold for horde

I like locks with felhunter or succy. maybe a little more in WSG than AB but the CC is best, spell lock/seduce, fear, aoe fear, tongues, so much advice/class assignment for flag spin but no ninja cap emphasis :(

I prefer honeypot strat... send token 2-3 players to LM ... just a delay tactic, let them die, 1 D farm, others move up. Send 2 stealth to GM, immediately proceed to Stables. Flood BS hard (min 10 - can sac gm and lm #s for 1 or 2 more) and a few swim to Stables... try to contest gy before the wiped BS group rez, wipe LM jumpers at BS as they arrive. You now have 4, opening a good lead, and most will be resing in their base. Bottleneck them at Stables - or under LM if pressure is high, defend Farm as needed... there will be some chaos at start as their LM team will likely run around like chickens, not focusing 1 area. Careful to support Farm. Ideally, take LM between rez cycles... swapping for Stables and/or GM if you cant hold the 5cap. Sometimes this ends up in an LM turtle... but not a big deal, it's still 4-1 while you res at BS (always well protected) and easily cycle your rezzers to stables or farm side... then continuing to bottle them up. Frequently GM will get ninja'd... you can parachute down and contest it if it's just 1 or 2.... or hit LM even harder. So long as you hold stables-bs-farm it doesnt matter... arranging the lm swap makes life easier but not necessary. I've won plenty of games w/o LM and with GM... cant think of many ive won without BS.

I used to play a crazy amount of pvp-premades on Nos for Horde, but due to my opinion that priests should heal and shamans should suppose, i was banned from "the" premade that was building HWL's. I was pointing out that Shamans should focus on supplying WF, purge and heals, rather then play DPS and burn all their mana. I was also against Shadowpriests because they were not good for the team due to no heals. I did run premades against you, Crematory and Davyjones alot, usually fights to tooth & nail.

Good times mate. Ranking on Nost was the most fun I’ve had on any Vanilla server. We were very lucky to have lots of players with competitive attitudes that wanted to fight tough games

The best strategy is to fight where they are not. Always make sure you have the advantage, especially at the start of the game before one base is captured. Every kill early on will spawn at the BG entrance. For example kill the small group at GM and farm/stables before pushing to BS. It will give you the advantage in numbers. Don't tag the base until you have the advantage in numbers, because it will always cost you 1 player.

I loved those long wars in AV during classic. My guess is that most people playing PvP a lot want the bg to end as quickly as possible though. I played a lot of pvp as well but I want to be the AV as looooong as possible.

Theres a debate going on in my guild about which bg is better, I've been told that AB is 'shallow' compared to WSG. I disagree. What do you guys think? What's the better bg? AB or WSG?

So who do you think has the advantage in premade vs premade? Alliance or Horde?

The simple answer is that I see Horde having the advantage in AB and Alliance having the advantage in WSG. A well played Shaman brings more to a teamfight than a Paladin does, but Paladin is one of the strongest classes for assisting a Flag Carrier and providing mobility for their team in general. AB is about teamfights and WSG is about mobility. The catch here is that its harder to be an effective Shaman than to be an effective Paladin. Shamans have a lot more to manage and a very nuanced playstyle, so you don't see a lot of really standout Shamans in Vanilla PvP. Paladins will have a pretty big impact even if they are an average player because the class has a lot of cooldowns & a straightforward playstyle. Not shitting on Paladin skill cap at all here; Mage is kinda the same way - lots of CD's & easy to play on a basic level

As i see the map it's not made for alliance. Most important base is BS and LM. Easy for a force to protect both if they are stationed where you point. Now turn the map upside down and tell me where an alliance force will be able to station in order to protect LM,BS and ST. The road to BS is blocked by a river ffs.

Levitate could be cast on other players in retail vanilla. Levitate do not work correctly on private servers. Noggenfogger is best anyways as you can be mounted.

Zaro Likse Every database page I checked listed levitate as self-cast only. And like you say it’s been self-cast on pretty much every pserv. I was a young kid in retail Vanilla and wasn’t good enough to know things like that, so I’m not 100% sure, but databases are usually correct on this stuff.

When you see a zerg arrive then do not fight them but run the opposite direction of their zerg or at least be on the opposite side of their zerg this way they will ALWAYS lose! This can be a gold sink but ALWAYS stock up on potions and saltwater.

@@teodorgoldman9572 how so? Literally played a druid to rank 11 in a premade. WSG weekend = Star of the show, AB weekend = Anchor on stables. Not even sure how you can disagree with this, druids are objectively worse at doing dmg than most other classes. Imagine structuring your premade so that you have the Big dick arms warrior on stables while the hybrid druid takes up his mantle on BS. Now that would be some bullshit (No pun intended)

just because smaller premade groups and non-premade people on Classic refer to your video for AB tactics, I have to leave a comment. This video is the first search result for "ab classic guide", guess its why people on Classic WoW refer to it. Your tactic is causing way too many slow boring defeats for Alliance. This guide for Horde is 100% legit. @4:26 you mention the golden triangle. From alliance side you decided not to mirror the triangle, but to rotate it 90 degrees for some reason. Please understand why the golden triangle works so well from the Horde side: you are peeling off from base to base through your home base, and you do it by land. No swimming, no Alliance on the way. There are those sweet crossroads where you can just stand and wait for incoming attack. When you rotate the golden triangle for Alliance only 90 degrees instead of 180, getting from BS to LM or from LM to BS requiters you to either make a perfect 3 jump on mount, or lose time swimming, or running through Farm and clash with Horde on the way. Clashing is what people choose because it's by land. Now imagine if you rotate the golden triangle 180 degrees for Alliance, mirrored, like the map. No Swimming. No Horde. Same sweet crossroads. Just stand on the cliff above GM close to bridge and wait for incoming. Creator of this video, I beg of you to understand that 4 = 2 when you're Alliance. Going LM as Alliance because it's "high ground" is an outdated Vanilla mentality, rated battlegrounds have proven that many years ago. Creator of this video, I really hope that you play Classic, that you care for it and that you will make an updated viral video or edit this one, or at least rename the last part to Vanilla Private Server PvP, instead of clickbait title.

You clearly never watched Star Wars :D On a more serious note though this sounds nice but doesn't work vs a competent team. While premading we sometimes face Alliance going for this strategy (cap ST/BS/GM) and indeed people waiting on the GM cliff. We manage to almost always beat teams doing this shit. First send 11 people to attack GM, which means Alliance needs to come down to fight GM, with the aim to not kill the Alliance but just get them very low and drain as much of their mana as possible and then die. The dead res @ farm and can then easily push BS in 2 waves, with 1 Hunter/Mage running straight from farm GY to the BS bridge on ally side to delay reinforcements from GM. It's very hard to defend against that. That's the problem with GM, it's a trap. Once you're down there it takes a long time to get to BS. This trick doesn't really work with LM because you can jump down with Noggenfogger/Slow Fall/whatever to defend BS immediately.

So I've played in AB on American servers since Vanilla. Any time I've heard the phrase "spinning the flag", it has been referring to someone trying to cap it. It's called that because when you try to cap, there is some sort of animation spinning around you while you do it.

I tend to disagree with the priority of the bases in one slight aspect... I believe LM is just as crucial as BS and should be labeled as a number 1 also... The high ground is always preferred in a defensive battle..

Like what you doing here - yet I don't agree with a couple of things: 1. Holding Stables is extremely easy, due the close GY. So its easily two tiers above farm in defending it. 2. Refering to the commentary of H>A in AB: Just No, good Paladins nearly negate the benefits of an elemental shaman. So if Horde doesn't overcommit to BS at the Start, a good Alliance team can stall forever. --> Might result in a possible 4 cap & and Paladins are just such strong Defenders, due Bubble Time being a guranteed no-Flag, which on top synergizes with other classes defending since they can easily be dispelled and healed up during that time, so they can use their defensive cooldowns later. --> Therefore Horde strongly relies on getting Stealth engagements when they are behind, which puts the faction instantly on the weaker side.

Biggest mistake that players do in AB - running away from base chasing even single enemy player, and let it to be capped with rogues or druids. And not capping immediately base that has been capped by enemy, before it changes color. And not using a map, of course.

Also,in none premades, too many People go off to defend a node, leaving other ones vulnerable., Less than 3 stay behind to defend, people scattered, making the group weak, People not calling inc fast enough, with the number of attackers and people fighting on the roads.

went 100% undefeated (many runs for people to high warlord, etc) in vanilla on smolderthorn. Guild gloryhogs. This is not how you do it. You need the flying V and 1 defend per point. Flying V ends at graveyard camp.

You're talking about 5 capping PUGs. This video is focused on Premade vs Premade games between evenly matched teams. Completely different approaches for completely different situations/goals. Also the info from this video is based on 2018 private server meta which is drastically different than retail Vanilla.
