US 52 along the Ohio river has its share of nice scenery. Nothing beat a motorcycle ride up 52, then taking the ferry in Higginsport across the river into Augusta Kentucky. Very historic town and you can even explore Kentucky’s oldest jail built in the early 1800’s. Then ride back on Kentucky highway 8 to the Maysville bridge. Good vid John. I would definitely enjoy exploring all the way up and down 52 on both sides of the river! I've been to all of them but never really explored in depth. Good stuff! Thanks!

Beautiful area . The old hotel would have been excellent to have stayed in. The view of the river plus the cool breeze . Nice old jail at least might have a view of the river while locked up. 🤔

That first old hotel looks like it had just been moved there because of the green grass under it and the blocks it's on.

Just thought I would correct a few things from your video. The "Higginsport Jail" wasn't a jail but a home. I know there is a website that says it was but it wasn't. Also it technically isn't abandoned as the property owner still keeps up with the exterior. The "underground church" in Utopia wasn't a church or a place where slaves found safety, it was simply a place to store wine or beer. The "chimneys" were just ventilation shafts. Tons of these old storage areas are all along that area of RT 52 (most under homes) as many vineyards were along the hillsides until a grape disease killed the local wine industry. Good video but wanted to make sure these false ideas aren't continuously spread like they've been for many years.
