I am a fan of Geno, but after seeing how easily Va Tech dismantled Ohio St's press, I have to think a good deal of the blame of UConn's failure in this game, is coaching. Their strategy to break the press was a failure. I don't believe Va Tech's talent is that much ahead of UConn's that it would explain the difference in effectiveness in breaking the press.

AZ had 14 points 5 steals 3 block shots all while playing injured. Nika is his point guard until they play a real team that plays hard and won't put up with her illegal hand checks. Out of nowhere Geno switch to have AZ play point. That's why they all had that reindeer, light effect. Geno has a 6'5 player sitting on the bench just rotting. He kept Edward's on the bench to long in the fourth quarter. His game time adjustments are so predictable. None!

I've followed UConn for 20+ years, and through the season I kept saying that this team was the weakest Huskies I've ever seen. When some people, elated in a lopsided win in a home court, claimed that this would be the year for another championship, I just chuckled. Final Four could have been a huge success for this team but winning it all? No way. It would take a miracle upon miracle. That said, in my opinion, it's about time for Geno, with all his glorious moments, to pass his torch to the next one. Undoubtedly He is outcoached, which is happening more frequently nowadays than in the past. Of course, he cannot make shots on the court, but is responsible for the poor execution of defense, which allowed 23 points to a freshman, who is talented but clearly not in the league of A. Boston. And the atrocious 25 turnovers are largely due to the coaching, or lack thereof. Nika is a liability in a big game. Simply, she cannot shoot, which graciously grants to the opponent team another body to defend UConn's main scorer. When things are not going in UConn's way, she cannot lead the game as a leading guard. Basically, she belongs to a second squad in the bench. Edmonds is so inconsistent that after two years of watching her, I gave up on her in a match that matters. Her habit of getting foul trouble early in the game is just frustrating. The strength of Dorka is her height, and her weakness is that she is not able to manipulate her height. Senechal was a surprise because I had not expected much from her. Well, done and good luck for the next stage. Fudd can become a great shooter but now we realized that she is not the one who can dominate game like Diana or Paige can. Next year, with Paige as a leading guard (Nika must start from the bench), I expect she will have her career year. Paige, Azzi, and Ice will make the starting lineup next year and the rest two spots open. If those three keep healthy wire to wire, even without much help from other players, I think UConn is favored to win 12th championship. And it'll be a great ending to honor Geno's glorious achievement.

One of the most embarrassing performances in UCONN women's basketball history. Twenty-four turnovers, missed free throws, silly fouls, no effort, and a lack of competitive urgency. Edwards and Muhl should have stayed in the dressing room. Lou is the only one that came to play. Have not won a title since 2016, this is unacceptable for UCONN. I hope the returning players improve and the new recruits can make a difference next year. Ohio State in nothing special, they just played with more intensity.

Simply a disappointing game from UConn's top players... Dorka showed up but that was about it. Obviously Edwards had foul trouble (a couple soft calls) but disappointing performance nonetheless. Next season they will have Paige Buckets back which will be an overall moral booster and obviously will make the team better talent wise. Edwards, Muhl, Fudd, all have to gain a new level of hunger after this.
