This is PART III of the Concert given in St Mary's Cathedral, Glasgow by the "University Singers" from Ohio Northern University USA on their "United Kingdom Concert Tour 2015" I filmed this on Sunday 1st March 2015 at St Mary's Cathedral in Great Western Road, Glasgow at 2 pm. To try to film above the audience heads I took off my shoes, stood on a pew at the back of the Cathedral, hid behind and leaned on a huge stone column/pillar.
I had heard about this Tour only the day before and was delighted to have a free day and was able to go along with 2 friends and 2 family members. This truly professional choir of young people gave us the most wonderful and uplifting afternoon.
The concert was set out in three parts. This is Part III Secular Music. Five pieces including the rousing Pseudo-Yoik and Shaker Dance ending with the beautiful and moving Benediction.
There is nothing quite like a Cathedral's accoustics ... and as the beautiful voices of The University Chamber Singers from Ohio blended and rose to the rafters of this old Cathedral it was absolutely wonderful.
During this first week in March the Choir's performances :
2nd March 7.30 pm Manchester Cathedral
4th March 7.30 pm Cardiff Metropolitan Cathedral of St David
6th March 7.30 pm Regent Hall, 27 Oxford Street, London
The Choir fly back to Ohio on 7th March 2015.
It was also extra special for myself and my friends to meet up again with one of the members of the Choir Chelsie Cree, whom we had first met in Manchester in September and October of 2014.
I do hope everyone enjoyed their first Tour of the UK ... We certainly enjoyed having you here. As they say in Scotland "Haste Ye Back"
Best wishes to each and every member of the choir in their future careers & Keep Singing !
