Little fun fact about Murray State's football program, is that we are the only ncaa school who uses a live race horse and jockey for our live mascot, and every time Murray scores a TD, the mascot, Racer One, does a lap around the track. GO RACERS!

The mascot of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN was chosen in honor of Austin Peay, governor of Tennessee in the 1920s and a native son of Clarksville. In fact, several buildings on campus are named in honor/memory of past Tennessee governors. And yes, our school cheer is, "Let's Go Peay!" I am a Governor myself and I shout it loud and proud.

Fun fact: The Austin Peay State University Governors are moving to the Atlantic Sun (ASUN) conference effective Fall 2022, dropping the OVC football membership to 6 teams. Belmont and SIU-Edwardsville do not have D-1 football programs, while Morehead State is a football-only member of the Pioneer League. Edit: Yeah, about Belmont, they're leaving the conference too.

It’s now held in Chattanooga for 2021 and 2022. Before Cookeville, it was in Murfreesboro. They change it up so other cities and schools get a chance to host it. Which is kind of cool imo. Arkansas just does theirs at War Memorial in Little Rock

This video would have been a bit longer even if it had been done earlier in 2021: Eastern Kentucky and Jacksonville State left on June 30, 2021. Austin Peay heads to the ASUN (it is officially just "ASUN", not "Atlantic Sun" on July 1, 2022). Murray State may be on their way out as well.
