I’ve had koi spawn often when in holding tanks or quarantine tanks. They love to spawn during a stressful situation. It’s their way to ensure their genetics are passed on.

Unfortunately randomly bred koi don't look good and will not be wanted. Sadly best bet is to put them in with the preditory fish. Even properly bred koi probably only one in hundred make the cut.

That's wicked! Carp can spawn a couple times a year if temps are right, we usually get 2-3 spawning phases in local lakes round here so that halts carp fishing for a week or so 2-3 times a year Bet they'll grow into absolute bangers!! 🎣💪💪 Gotta do videos as they grow

That is a crazy amount of babies! Hopefully Shaq’s pond can handle it the next time they spawn. We had a koi and goldfish pond growing up, but babies never made it because they’d get eaten. It was for the best though because it was a small pond. I recently bought two guppies which then turned into 50 guppies lol. I ended up taking all of the babies to the fish store once they were big enough.

Oh wow that's so special. I really love little baby Goldfish Fry or Koi. They normally hatch in around 3 days at perfect temp. I used to breed Goldish when I was around 12 , fond memories it was over 30 years ago for me. 😍

As the water evaporates some of the fry are caught in that little bit of water that curls up the side, as the water drop they dry out its the reason I cover all my hatch out tanks. It used to bug me that some of my tanks had this problem and some didn't and I realised the only difference was the tanks that had fry on the glass had no kids on the tanks

thats so cool! i have a 40g breeder with goldfish and one day they're fine, then bam ammonia spike. daily 25% water changes then its good for a while. i like to add zeolite to my filter media soaks up that ammonia too. you guys are awesome!!
