$300 is an arbitrary price based on who they are selling it to. Like how a little $2 hotel bottle of shampoo at a hospital costs $150 when the health insurance company or Medicaid pays for it. I'm sure the price will be lower once they market it to recreational/home users. They'll probably even still market the same device as "for professional use only" at this original inflated price at the same time, too.

I was thinking more along the lines of a fluid reservoir filled with liquid CO2... That way you can get a cold flashbang without the possibility of "Accidentally" burning the house down. That would have the side benefit of rapidly cooling the whole thing down and you could drive the LEDs that much harder for a short time.

Not gonna lie, I think it WOULD work better than a pathetic mace or civilian taser. If you are aware of a threat and is approaching you, then drop this immediately and gets everyone attention.
@hibob841
@hibob841 Ай бұрын
@@LL-cuh I've been subjected to both for training and I disagree. Also, nobody uses mace anymore; you're thinking O.C. (pepper spray). O.C. is plenty effective for the most part. It is _seriously_ painful. Even if someone is tough/high/trained enough to shrug that off, they're not going to be able to see much. The bigger risk is that you catch some yourself, due to wind or contact. I'm not sure if you're conflating TASERs with stun guns (what's a 'civilian taser?'). TASERs, they either drop you like an 'off' switch or they do nothing (former is way, way more common). The electrodes have to make skin contact, so winter clothing is a problem. And there are very rare people that seem almost immune to them, somehow-but that is exceedingly rare. Keep in mind that there are also very rare people who keep fighting after several gunshot wounds, so...there's really no 100% silver bullet that you could legally and practically carry, defensively. But I would assert that O.C. and/or TASER are worth considering, _if_ someone is willing to practice and educate themselves on their use.

Just secure the fb and run a trip wire straight to the pin. You could totally put it on the 12 second, and secure it at head hight next to ur front door and run a wire from the door to the pin. I'm guessing if someone tried to open ur door and this thing went off 6 inches from their face they would crap their pants as they blindly run in the dark.

It’s kind of neat but the entire advantage of a flashbang is shock and awe. When we deployed flashbangs either with SWAT or what I did in the military the target was instantly deafened and the bright flash was overwhelming. This I feel does not have that auditory effect but definitely the light would be good. I would much rather put my money into traditional flash bangs.

In past times, disposable photoflash existed. In these devices inside the glass enclosure there was active metal and oxygen. When the electric pulse is supplied, the metal light up and burned with the release of light. It seems to me that a similar principle can be used in these devices. It is necessary to leave the electronic component only to initiate many such bulbes in a certain sequence and not use LEDs.

Theoretically, I could buy a lot of illegal fireworks off the rez for that price, mortars make GREAT flash bangs!

Great review, Steve! I don't see crazy sales on this (even the website said they're behind 2 weeks due to overwhelming demand). It's still a TOY and a very expensive one at $399.00! Civilian market for self-defence? Not for this price, I would instead buy two Taurus G2C for the same price as this flashbang, but at least I will definitely use them and depend on them! They need to drop the price tag that people start buying, my opinion 😉

I’m sure they could have made one for $100 and nobody would be complaining. It wouldn’t be as tough, as bright or as loud. So if It’s not tough enough to last, not bright or loud enough to actually disorient, it would just be a hundred dollar toy. You get what you pay for. I’m glad they made something that’s “worth something” in this world of overwhelming disposable junk.

Its only $30 made in ChiNa. This guy is part of the marketing team that sells them for the huge markup. Everything on Amazon is marked up at least 300% is made in china and resold to idiots.

I think it will be needed for security guards in the Philippines to avoid lethal attacks many security guards in the Philippines are not properly trained to be patient they are all trigger maniac to their service fire arm that thing is less lethal to stop crime

thanks for testing it out on video. i was frustrated with reviewers last week who had it in their hands but never even tried it out, just reading out the manual. for $300, worth showing how it works. i’ve seen one or two other led flashbangs (when researching more about this) that are in the same price range, so i guess that is probably why this one is also ridiculously expensive. there was a relatively cheaper one for airsoft, but poorer contruction and not as nice as this one. plus this one has more options although too high a price. not a disposable or collateral unit unless you don’t mind treating $300 of gear as such.

Apparently someone doesn’t know what flashbang means. You can get a flashlight with strobe effect along with one of those personal alarms. This is by no means a flashbang

This device appears to be as disruptive to the user as the intended target since the strobe and sound keeps going on. The entire premise of a LSD is to distract and disorient the target quickly, thus allowing the users to move in while the other is disoriented. With this, everyone is getting the same disorienting effect. What is the point?
