I bought a gunmetal 6C on Dave’s recommendation, as a second razor with the first being a Henson, and been using the 6C for about a month. Changing the plates is something I thought was a bit of a thing I would not do, but it is useful. Example - I flew to Melbourne for work this week and so had to use a Fusion, and my skin was irritated by that and so needed to step back from a 5 plate to a 3 plate. I drop to a 3 plate if shaving my legs (I am a cyclist). Still use the Henson if I shave at work, but the 6C is my favourite. I am diving down the rabbit hole - a T2 will be next because it reminds me of a razor my father had and it looks cool

Great Lineup. The .95 is my absolute favorite Razor right now. The Rexx ambassador is a great shape, but it has a lot of blade feel even on setting one. Matt likes Blade feel as I'm completely opposite. I like a neutral blade exposure.

Rockwell 6C for me. Have yet to find anything that will touch its smoothness and versatility. I also have the henson AL13 mild and i still prefer my 6C over it any day. @OhioShaves my pleasure! I have 12 brushes, 6 razors (3 more from yates soon). Bout 40 shaving soaps, few aftershaves, what else? Oh yeah, just received my kickstarter titainer razor today with all the extra goodies included, and my 1st time wet shaving with my grandfathers 1966 gillette tech 3 piece razor was about 10 weeks ago and I fell in love! This was decades in the making on how I acquired wet shaving items like the razor and 30 yr old safety blades I bought when I was 16, 17 about, along with a shavette that I still have.. it was stored within the 1st stoke of the blade lol
@Vince_TasciottiАй бұрын
Sorry about your foot. I hope your recovery goes smoothly. We all get a few nicks and cuts out of a safety razor, depending technique and the sharpness of the blade. The wrong angle with a brand new blade is a guaranteed weaper. I can get razor burn from pressing too hard on my neck, or from worn threads on the top cap on my 34C. I always have an extra top cap on hand for this reason. The Rockwell is such an amazing razor, next to impossible to get a bad result with it. After care for a shave is the best thing to do. My stand bys are Thayers and Nivea, either used one after the other or separately.

The Rockwell 6C is an inexpensive but very good quality. I have the gunmetal color which I love the color and then knurling on the handle gives a very good grip. I use it with the #6 plate. It takes a little practice getting used to it but once you do you will have smooth shaves. I also have a Merkur Futur which has the smooth chrome handle but sometimes it is tricky holding on to it but with practice it can be done. Merkur Futur has given me a few good bites before, so it takes a very gentle surgical touch.
@OhioShavesАй бұрын
I love the 6C but I have a love-hate relationship with the Futur. One of the most aggressive razors I have ever used.
@Joekewl025Ай бұрын
@@OhioShaves Futur on setting #1 is way more aggressive then the 6C I think. Futur on #6 takes the word "safety" out of Safety Razor but it will give you the closest blade on skin shave. So glad to hear that you are progressing well in your recovery. Prayers for your continued healing. I own 2 razors, the Henson AL13+ and the Rockwell 6S. I have only 2 brushes. A synthetic one that was part of the shave kit I got with the 6S, and a fairly inexpensive natural hair brush from an Amazon vendor, which is the one I use regularly. I’m tempted to purchase the Rockwell T2 stainless steel razor. Then I think: Hey, the 6S is so awesome, why should I spend any more on razors? I’m not trying to acquire a collection for my “den”. But at the current discounted price I am struggling to not pull the trigger on a T2 SS.

But that sale is tempting, especially the shave kit one. Too bad your code doesnt stack with the kit, it only works for individual pieces as far as i tried. 6S is still one of my favorite razors even after trying some high end razors. That's the only thing I've saved money on is DE blades, L.O.L. Straight razors is much bigger rabbit hole especially when you get into honing and waterstones, ouch. I agree with your recommendations and I would also recommend getting the Leaf triple bladed razor. I use only the 2 top slots and my favorite blade to use in it is the teflon coated Voskhod blades. It's a little expensive but how many DE razors do you know where you can use it like a Gillette Mach 3 with the dirt cheap DE blades.

Yeah. I hit the wrong button on Lavalier mic in the setting. Left channel and mono 🤣 the 6C is hard to beat

Hey Ohio, I see that Rockwell offers both shaving cream and shaving soap. How do these differ, and which do you prefer?

@OhioShavesАй бұрын
That's great news. Rockwell makes some really good soap and aftershave combo. And there's a huge sale going on as I pointed out in this video. As for a really good stand out soap, Taylor of old Bond Street is a huge winner

Which do you orefer, the 6S or the T2?
@OhioShavesАй бұрын
Great question. If I want more aggressive razor then the T2. Level 6 can really cut through growth and still silky smooth. No plates to change, just Run and Gun. As for the 6S, I always shave with the 6 plate on all passes with silky smooth finish. Both are killer shaves

@OhioShaves Now, what about the 6C vs 6S? They're both on a great special, right now.

What your number one saftey razor? If you only can choose one?
@OhioShavesАй бұрын
It would have to be a adjustable razor because I don't shave on a schedule. I'd have to say a Rockwell because I've taken off 12 days of growth on plate six and I've also shaved every day with it as well. Just an all-around fantastic Razor. What's your favorite?

@@OhioShaves I’m new to using a safety razor. I ordered one from Temu, but it’s bad. I often suffer from razor burn. I’ve tried electric razors and the Gillette SkinGuard, but they were all unsuccessful. Would you recommend the Rockwell safety razor for all areas?The Henson razor can apparently be used for the entire body without causing cuts.Which razor irritates the skin the least and provides the cleanest shave? Thank you for your response.

Dave you are the man! You are my kind of dude, and I follow you because your no-nonsense talk. I am trying to figure this whole "Wet Shaving". What I am finding out I'm now counting razors! I am still early in this process. Before I started to learn I bought a Gillette 1956 TTO, why because that was the year I was born and for no other reason. Next Henson mild, then Gillette Fatboy. Why because everyone wants a fat boy. Now due to Rockwell sale a 6C and T2. HELP HELP! I don't see why keeping the Gillette's makes sense. Seems to me keeping the Henson mild and one Rockwell is what I need to do. So, either the 6C or T2. Don't know if the 6S is worth the extra $$. Thoughts?
@OhioShavesАй бұрын
Thanks for your support. Stainless steel is definitely worth it. I would keep them all so you can rotate through them, different tool for a different job.
