July 2022,.....I just read they are demolishing the dorm, Scott Quadrangle, in (2022). I lived in Bush Hall and another one,...the name escapes me, at this moment. Beginning in 1972. Both were on the East Green. Later I moved to outside housing, in the old Athen's Hotel on Court Street, and at a more modern apartment, which may have been torn down, called Lake View,....near the East Green. I lived the best years of my life there, good times and great memories.

I just discovered that OU had a KZbin channel... Didn't expect that. I was just looking up if videos on Athens, Ohio exist because I'm very curious about the history of this town and how far back stories go.

I don't know of any videos or documentaries about the history of Athens, but that's a great idea. There are books about the history of the university - which is basically the history of Athens - but no video as far as I know. Search KZbin for Athens Lunatic Asylum. There are several videos about that joint. Side note - Have you ever heard of Billy Milligan? He had 24 personalities and one of them committed several felonies including armed robbery and convicted of rape. He died in 2014. Daniel Keyes, an Ohio University a professor of creative writing, wrote a book called "The Minds of Billy Milligan" if you're interested. Fascinating story. Sorry I went off topic.

I make it a rule not to pry into the personal lives of our students unless they bring it up first. It's possible, I suppose, that students at other universities don't enjoy the occasional partying, but I doubt it. Thanks for watching.

Not just a party school, Joe. It's unfortunate that we have that reputation because there's partying going on at every college and university except perhaps Liberty College and Brigham Young University, although I suspect there's some secret partying going on there.
