I played this game for years in my childhood (5 years or more). I was a modder, and I can say that was not nearly as comprehensive as the developper DC made it sound in the comments. That was barely 60% at most. The golden era was when there was at least 300 players online at once. It was cra-zy.

@@Botix330 Yeahh, like a full on RPG tibia game with moving monsters, drop items, levels and missions. Or roleplay with weapon/armor shops, money system and exchange system (+ police, jobs, death..). Or a ninja town that imitates minecraft with actual (pretty graphic) ninjutsu skills, upgrades, etc. Or a fking fullon jail and terrorists have to escape in ANY WAY possible. There was also monster escape (where all sides have to cooporate in a limited time to successfully win the game), or amongus, and murder mystery as well. The CTF is massively underrated in this video tbh, with the construction ability, the game often takes hours to finish like a game of rope where both sides keeps pulling the rope which takes massive skill and team cooperation. The real fun in this game is in the creativity of the playerbase and diversity of the servers, not just shooting each other for 10 rounds and calling it a day. Kinda like roblox in some way but in 2D, in different mechanics and completely different kind of players...

I still remember when I used to make mod's for it back in 2005. I didn't made too much with it, but my favourite stuff was when I reskinned the whole game with pacman and ghosts, made a recreation of pacman layout, and filled the level with grenades. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but I had months worth of fun with those silly tweaks and even released it online. The mod is no longer compatible with modern windows, but I still have few videos about it on a secondary channel.

Yeah. Played this in 2006 in high school. It was a small file, so we put all the game files in the Microsoft word file, renamed as "bin.exe". I only ever played on LAN A friend and I installed half life into a few machines and nearly got expelled. It was the hight of "games made my child murderous". So parents went mental when they found out their kids were playing something gory at school. Fail

hi i'm mike and i forgot there's some grammar problem and some more i haven't explained in the previous comment things that Lamp haven't introduced yet or you haven't notice: *NIGHT VISION* It might be useless when you play on official map but oh god it's damn useful if you play on a map that is really PITCH DARK that the community made, there's also an option in sprite entity that makes the sprite begone when you activate the goggles so it's kinda useful outside the official map *BUILDINGS* - Barricades can be upgraded into walls, the walls can also be upgraded into stronger walls - Barbed wires are neutral, it's a trap - Gate Field is like barbed wires except you and your team mate don't deal damage when you step on it, but this does not apply for deathmatch, every buildings other than turrets are neutrals - Turrets can be upgraded into a stronger turret from two machine guns into three machine guns, the durability also gets stronger - Dispenser, it's same like TF2 dispenser, you can heal and you can get money from them, neutral dispenser can be used by both team, it is cannot be upgraded - Supply can give you items, it can be upgraded to give you better items like molotovs and armors - Turrets, Dispensers, Supplies, and Teleporters are only can be built one by one individual (except if you have the infinite and instant build lua script, or if you play on C4) you can build more of them if you have teammates - Mines, Laser Mines (aka tripwire), and Portals also count as builds *SNOWBALLS* Snowballs deals small damage, you can instal the show damage script if you want to know how much it does *ARENA & UTILITY ITEMS* - Light armor gives you small defense - Armor protect you, reduce any incoming damage by50% - Heavy armor protect you, reduce any incoming damage by 75% - Super armor, FCK THIS SHT, it gives you full defense WHICH IS UNFAIR AS FCK and people are abusing this items whenever they see it - Medic armor heals you by 10% HP everytime you got damage - Stealth armor makes you almost transparant, hiding beneath the lamp, light source, on dark area, or hiding on top of a fully white tiles/blocks will make you almost can't be found. you'll get fcked up if you stay on dark tiles because it makes you more visible - Gas mask protects you from Gas grenade and env_kill entity (if the entity have an option that makes player with gas mask to live is on) - Gas grenade, it's like the mustard gas but green and it can kill you real fast - Molotovs gives huge damage on impact but the flame give little damage - Air strike is like a flare but it gives you big suprise - Portal gun can't be activated on tiles that are used to spawn players, items, and stuff. you can use this to troll players into walking to an unescapable trap (like 1x1 tiles surrounded by env_kill or death tile) - Machete deals huge damage, making you feel like a damn sparta (im referring to community map 3000bc_sparta that no one knows the creator) - Coins, Moneys, Golds gives you more moneys - Tesla coil projectile can home at any enemy near them, the projectile range follows your cursor range *MAKING RESKINS & SPRITES* - You can make your own skins by just using Ms Paint, go to CS2D/gfx/weapons or npcs then edit the sprites, don't worry there is no copyright except if you post the same skin that the official have. when you open the pic, everything looks black but don't leave the bg black after saving it because the whole sprite will just become black square, use the pink from source missing texture for the bg. save it into a bitmap - You can't use bitmap for sprites, use PNG instead *RCON* RCON are used for admins

ofc these zoomers dont know rcon password, when we played 1.6 and earlier back then in 2004/2006 you had your own server, maybe through a clan, and used a HLTV software to operate your server. rcon password was something you got in touch with on the daily basis. good old gamers irc times.

best part about it was custom servers people made with some really fun gamemodes and maps i dont even know what it did but remember playing RP servers a lot and also im 99% sure you can just start a server for free with your own map you made and people can find it in server browser and join, for free, without some port opening since i dont think 10 year old me knew how to do that

The reason Conter Strike has no "MODS" button in the menu is because it is the mod!! Half-Life is the original one and had plenty of mods as well as a mod entry in the menu (at least after installing the first one). CS was "just" a mod in the beginning. Played the very first betas when you could rush in the beginning of a round and grab the guns from the previous round because they were still there :-) good old times...
