WEREWOLF CULTURE | Aphmau MyStreet MV/Edit | Believer/Whatever It Takes/Thunder

Since I personally feel that my story telling with this video is all over the place, Imma give an explanation on what the whole point of this video is cause why not lol: *TL;dr - Werewolves have a subtle but complex story on racism and discrimination, and it should be acknowledged!* I wanted to shine a light on the whole werewolf subplot that's been going on throughout MyStreet and PDH lately, because I feel that this topic has been fairly overshadowed by people focusing on ships and Aaron's Ultima problem (though it's not as underrated as much as MCD's amazing story right now, but we'll focus on that at another time!) According to what we've seen from PDH, werewolves have a unique culture/vibe that stands out from humans and Meif'wa. Generally, there's this bias that werewolves are known to be much more rough and loud, as shown from them breaking windows, fighting each other for Alpha, trusting their instincts, howling at the moon, etc. Even if there are exceptions (Daniel being an example), this reputation often gets them into trouble with discrimination and minor misunderstandings. The restaurant scuffle from "Now Kiss!" (Starlight Ep. 14) is a clear example of this, when the waiter tells Aaron's group that they "Don't accept people like them." Yes, it could be argued that the staff was just being cautious. But their attitude largely reflects racism toward an implied minority. Even Aphmau herself had trouble understanding werewolf culture. Like when she accidentally calls Aaron Alpha in Starlight Ep. 6, or wanted to turn into a werewolf for a rash decision. That doesn't necessarily mean she's a bad person, but sometimes when learning about other cultures, you're bound to say things that may come off as disrespectful or make others uncomfortable. When someone points it out (such as Maria explaining more about the Alpha's role and Sylvanna talking to Aph about turning), you use that opportunity to realize your mistake and improve yourself, which is what Aphmau is doing right now. Yet, there's werewolves like Ein who *want* to be feared because of their rough nature. They think that they're superior above everybody else because of their strength and unique rules. That's why he was so hellbent on making Aphmau into a pure werewolf in Emerald Secret, someone he quote on quote "loved" back in high school, even then mentioning she would look better as a werewolf to Gene. To sum it all up, werewolves are going through a whole lotta crap, and their behaviors and place in MyStreet is what makes them so interesting and more complex than they seem. I wanted to focus on that subtle world building in Jess' phenomenonal writing, and appreciate the little lessons she adds in, y'know! Of course her work isn't perfect all the time (no piece of art is), but the way she implements real life issues and writes characters with diverse flaws is pretty amazing to me, and I wanted to point it out :>

btw this video also helps u realize that Aaron really is a patient person. He's an ultima, considered to be the most fierce and dangerous werewolf of all. But, he's able to keep his cool. Aaron was able (as u can see right in the beginning of the video) that instead of getting mad at the waiter like Dotty and the other werewolves. He pushed them away, not wanting to cause a fight. Aaron understands that he's not perfect in any way (u can see that clearly in Jess' writing) and he sees those flaws clearly. Aaron tries his best to keep his cool. (Although he went all Falcon Punch in Emerald Secret) Aarmau for life! Let's be honest real quick, he really hates Ein! But, this video is really extremely awesome and i watch it like, every day XD

This is so beautiful, it really captures the idea Jess had for the werewolves. Werewolves have always had a prejudice against them for being to wild, worked up, and mad, but they're just like anyone else, the same with meif'was. Just like in real life, no matter your race, we are all humans, and even animals need to be taken care of. Just because they are different doesn't mean they are dangerous or should be indangered.

I honestly never considered the whole problem of racism towards werewolves. Aphmau really did hide that in there. I mean, I remember the werewolves being denied entry into the restaurant, but I didn't connect it to any overarching problem. This video shined a light on a less recognised area, one that has been ignored even by the biggest fans of Aphmau. The video with the music and subtitles is just amazing. Good job!

I think Jess put more thought into the werewolf’s than mifwa...but who knows? Also when you think about it there are a lot more werewolf's then there are mifwa...I can only think of four Kawaii-Chan, Kai, Michi, and June. Maybe mifwas are rarer...so they don’t have much history therefore it’s harder to learn about them? But this is just my thought...

Yeah it’s a theory I saw. It goes like this Ein figures out that they are siblings and Michal uses a forever potion of control. It slowly drives him insane living in his mind. His eyes goes back showing us that the potion has set in. So after all he has done in season 6 he goes over the edge and is stuck in his mind..... until he ‘dies’.

The little underlying subplot about the Werewolves has been around as long as I can remember, but I've never actually seen anyone talk about it or really _mention_ it other than the Ultima thing. I think this portrays it amazingly!

Ik I'm late but, this would low-key be the GREATEST trailer for Emerald Sercret and PDH season 2, I wish Aphmau could see this, because I rewatched this about 5 times, because it's so understandable about how you could easliy not understand werewolves, and I think this helps people understand that werewolves aren't just rough and mean, they are just stronger, have stronger emotions and sometimes just misunderstood, but Ein makes it seem like all werewovles are supposed from be scary, and act more superior, and I think you really captured that moment of hesitation, anger, that lost feeling, and all to together just sometimes feeling alone, and I love how you made this video. Keep up the good work❤❤❤
