Your art process is just so breathtaking to watch. 😍 Thank you for sharing your beautiful talent! I’ve wanted to try markers more, and you’ve inspired me to play around with them again. ❤

I love how you can take basic water based markers and make a freaking masterpiece with them!!! For me, it's a refreshing change seeing this, from all the cutesy stuff like anime and cats (which I love, not hating on either!!)... Thank you for sharing your experience with your experimentations of the pupe markers....I have them both already and your portrait is soooo inspiring me to get started! If you already have the original ohuhu market pad, I think this surface feels more like bristol... Maybe it is a bristol lol. The newer, bleed through marker paper is nice, but it's a decently inclined, yet short learning curve. It takes me back a couple+decades to art school, when not many companies were makinn or marketing a paper like bristol, specifically for markers, except for papers that were more like coated tracing paper. This paper is like a more advanced version of those! I personally really like these on canson mi tientes. The new marker paper makes me feel like I'm looking at stained glass, almost. You can get a lot of depth when your wait for the latest to dry and here, they do also lose a little of their vibrancy (to your wonder). Also, I grabbed a bunch of my alcohol colorless blenders and it's possible to achieve some really cool effects with this, too.... I love your creations, Lioba! I absolutely consider you to be one of the more prolific watercolor portraits painters of our time! Truly, you've mastered all the medias!!! Cannot wait to see more!🩵

i love marker art. its just the fading. its only good for pictures of the work for print or for coloring books that will be put in a drawer

When displayed properly they can actually last a long time! I’m almost 37 and my mom still has some of my high school marker drawings on her wall. Just like watercolor, they will fade if exposed to sunlight, but framed out of the light, they can have a long life.! ❤

Hi! I want to ask you...why you don't blended with water Because they're water base right? They are a water soluble markers? And thank you for sharing!
@LiobaBrueckner24 күн бұрын
Omg I didn't even think of that lol! 😭 but I'm also not sure if that works , when I went over with the gouache (which was wet) the paint didn't blend , but this is a good idea and I need to try it out!

There you go again Lioba, making me want to get all my art supplies out and get creative! Great video as always! I have found the stone paper to be good for waterbased markers, no pilling whatsoever or another option is applying some watercolour ground to your paper first. Both options come with their unique challenges but can really help make the whole process more enjoyable

@@EmmaFalconerArtwow, I didn't even think about stone paper!!! Ohhh that's gonna be sooo nice! Thanks for this 🩵
@EmmaFalconerArt26 күн бұрын
@ it’s a bit funny to layer on because you can very easily reactivate layers underneath but I found I was happy to adjust to that as I worked because I was just so happy the paper wasn’t being shredded 😂
@GeekieGock26 күн бұрын
@EmmaFalconerArt yes!! I just tried on yasumoto and there's a lot of early movement... Bonus though, you can really move things around a little longer.. I'll try fibeliner after it's really dry. Will try with a wet brush too, maybe for smudging effect, but they don't really budge this way! I have been playing around all afternoon and I am having a lot of fun with Borden and Riley Paris paper. I bought it for alcohol markers, but pupe is nice and bold on this paper! Not good for blending with each other on the surface, but really great for blending via layering... Def does help having both marker packs if doing this technique. So much fun!!! These markers were long overdo! Thanks again for your suggestion! And yes! The paper shredding was running my day before lol .. I have away all my old complete sets before I got started because I barely used them down to that reason! So this is a mega improvement for me! For all of us 🩵🩵🙏🏻

i honestly feel water based markers are perfect for mixed media. I use them over top acrylic markers after they have dried and it helps me add some subtle shifts in color. Be careful because some acrylic marker colors reactivate so you will need to swipe the water based marker on a scrap paper ot get rid of the color taint but otherwise it works really good for me

In German it also seems really close to "fart" so yeah... very strange name.

I’ve seen a review video where the person says poopay or poop throughout their review.😅 Maybe ohuhu was attempting french for something different than their usual Hawaiian flavors…?👀🤔
