If you use distilled water, boil it and can the glycerin mix with water in a mason jar, you can keep it... The issue is mold taking into in tap water, because it's so much of a culture broth. Thank you so much for the tutorial!

Hi! Love your videos!! How do you dispose of glycerin? Also, how would you dispose of the mixture of glycerin and acrylic paint?
@LobotomizedTeddyBear Жыл бұрын
Hi, glycerin is actually a medicinal product that can be ingested, I would dispose of it the same as you do paint. If you don't have a lot, it'll dry out just the same as watery paint. I would just flush it down the toilet, because glycerin is often used as a suppository in it's solid (dried) form, so our pipes have seen a lot of it! If you have true pigments in your acrylic, such as those that can be toxic, dispose of the mixture after letting the water evaporate the same way you would normally. NileRed has a whole channel about lab cleaning that's called NileBlue but I'm a chemistry geek and I use glycerin as a way to make cake for my diabetic mom 🥰

Are you preserving real flowers? I sadly dont have experience with that. If you are wanting to make one of the sola wood flowers gold it would depend how you are dyeing the flowers. If it is dip dyed you could add the glycerin in the paint. If you are airbrushing or spraying them with something like spray paint I would spray glycerin on them afterwards.

hey! (sorry for the delay in responding back!) you can absolutely used preserved or dried greenery you just want to be careful for things like preserved eucalyptus depending on a temperature/humidity level changes things like that can weep and then you will have a release of dye from the greenery that could stain things. I would do a bit of research but it is something that people do for bouquets.

I would probably dye easy to uncurl flowers with an airbrush (dont add glycerin) when you air brush the flowers its such a fine mist of paint on top of the flowers that normally (unless you get really close and get the petals really saturated) you wont have much uncurling and the flowers stay relatively soft.
