You see... Lapaha folks kept history of their explorer thu. music and dance.... to this very day. Only to lost their connection with Samoa during the Ha'atakalau era. Everywhere they travel and fought... they took a piece back home... and women always. People of Lapaha are made of different Polynesian islanders including women from Micronesia. Lapaha warriors also brought with them some Fijian to the island of Chuuk in Micronesia.

It was passed down by memory through generations and generations and still they preserve this piece of historical dance that survives to this day. Interesting how many of our Tongan dances were brought from Samoa.

It is Samoan and it ties to the village of Lapaha. Funny how people recorded something from this very village and claimed it for themselves. Dr. Mahina concluded his doctorial interviewing folks from Lapaha.... he claims its his finding. @@lewiskalaniuvalu2280 Just so you didn't know, Tui Tonga didn't rule Samoa because he was Samoan by blood, "Aho'eitu" the first king of Tonga was the son of Tui Manu'a a ancient Samoan king from the east, Tui Manu'a empire was more powerful then the Tui Tonga empire, the Tui Tonga only ruled some parts of the big island of Savai'i but the Tui Tonga's biggest mistake was when he tried and take over Upolu island, the home of the two "Tama a Aiga"(Royal family) of Samoa known as "Tui Atua" and "Tui A'ana" but that was Tui Tonga's biggest mistake was when he thought he could defeat the warriors of Upolu, Samoa is a divided kingdom, and it's also the residing place of Tagaloalagi, the current rulers of Tonga are known as Tui Kanokupolu meaning HEART AND FLESH OF UPOLU, both Tui Tonga and Tui Kanokupolu are descended from Samoa.

There was no clear demarcation of countries back then because there were no borders as to say this is Samoa and this is Tonga. All islands were equal but were obliged under the rule of whoever hold the might of the seas. In this case Tonga held the strength and they did rule parts of Samoa.
