Nice video. You lubed the oil filter before installing (Good!) Isn’t it recommended to add some oil into the oil filter before installing?
@Travelingcarguy12 жыл бұрын
That's actually good to do for a turbo engine, besides this filter sits at an angle so the oil comes out of the filter and makes a mess

How many miles do you plan on driving between oil changes, specifically with your high mileage vehicle and full synthetic oil? Does the 'Oil Life' feature adjust solely based on miles driven and/or time following reset? Or, are there other contributing factors that my RL is able to perceive, evaluate and consider? Thank you for the video, I learned a couple things because you took the time to share, and to explain as you went!

I change it with Mobil 1 full synthetic 5w20 and I change it 4k to 5k miles. I tend to hit 4k miles around 30% to 40% so I just change it. Some people change it at 15% because the "oil maintenance soon" messege will illuminate and at that time the miles are 7500 miles. My rule of thumb is if the oil is conventional then change it at 3k miles and if it's full synthetic change at 5k miles. I have been using full synthetic since I bought it 7 years ago with 145k miles and now it has 283k miles. It's always best to keep consistent with the type of oil change used instead of switching back and forth from conventional to full synthetic oil. Oil Life is based on the miles driven and the type of driving whether it's city, highway or a combination of both. So if you tend to drive city mostly then the oil life would decrease quicker then if you drive highway. Thank you for watching! I glad this video helped you out!

Hmm!....good information! Question!...being that you've reached almost 300k, have you had any issues with your oil pump seals leaking? Acura Carland (metro Atlanta) informed me that at 125k plus my 07 RL is just starting to leak during timing belt service( just bought it) they offered to replace at almost $1000 for a seal? I declined but maybe will open things up at 205k!
@Travelingcarguy13 жыл бұрын
@@a.c.6475 I did the timing belt around 200k miles and that's when they noticed the leaking oil pump seals so I had them do it since they were in there. You said you were at 125k, have you done the timing belt and water pump replacement? If not then you can still pay around $1,500 to do the entire timing belt service and I suggest doing all the work that needs to be done in that vicinity engine like the oil pump seals and numerous other seals that will be reached like camshaft seals, valve cover etc. If you had done the timing belt already the shop should have replaced informed you about these seals so you don't have these leak on you. I was planning on doing that but in my case they were leaking.

@@Travelingcarguy1 Thanks for the reply, they "Acura" mentioned the oil pump seals, but I hadn't planned that in my budget, (they wanted an additional $770.00) I will have to save and try again at 150-160k or so, again thanks for your knowledge and wisdom!

@@Travelingcarguy1 a mechanic did my timing belt 1.5yrs ago (I've had the car for 3yrs) 4 weeks ago it broke. Had to get an engine put in, done by same mechanic. I've had the car back for 3 days. It's making a little noise now when I accelerate (maybe a belt?), Reminds me of what it started sounding like after he did it 1.5yrs ago (before that I never heard that noise). Also once I go 35mph two dash lights come on - the VSA & the CMBS. Also the yellow triangle with "!" in the middle. He said it's something about the abs not working & the traction control. He can't figure out how to turn these dash lights off. Any ideas? Thank you

@@tomf1028 Maybe the timing belt tensioner isn't right and it's perhaps causing timing belt to rattle on load. Is the car misfiring ?

Hello Traveling Car Guru! This is Nove from AISKITS, I watched your channel it’s really exciting and impressive. This is a newly launched LED headlight! You can see this LED headlight, is not cool?it is our latest development of a product! In the United States, there are many classic cars, they are our closest partners! Now they may need some upgrades to accompany us better. Replacing and upgrading our headlights does more than making driving safer. They improve the look of your vehicle as well as its performance. LED bulbs have a lower power pull on your vehicle’s battery and system. They also give our vehicle a fresh and new feel with bright white light. I was wondering if you could do a share for it on your KZbin: • Introduction • Overview of features • Actual driving footage with the bulbs • Amazon link on the description for viewers interested in buying the product." Please let me know if this is OK with you. Really looking forward to working with you. Best wish, Nove
