Read the manual and it says use the right size socket for the filter and new (K&N) hsa a nut built on, but my filter is like yours, I had thought about 'brute force' and your video convined me - thanks for posting!

See my video ‘I could have died’ for how I hate K&N.

Thanks for the video, it's very interesting and informative. It is better to remove the filter without gloves, or with rubber gloves. Gloves will get wet anyway, and so will your hands. Wipe your hands and that's it. And now I have to throw away gloves and wipe my hands ). But it is good to screw the filter in gloves as you have, you can screw it with less force as it is necessary, and if your hand breaks off, you will not scratch your hands as without gloves. And after you have tightened the filter, it is necessary to turn it back by 5-10 degrees. It is necessary for the rubber gasket to straighten. And in general do not pay attention, I have nothing to do and write everywhere comments )). Nice bike you have, I have the same. Oil manufacturers always hide or write in very small letters on canisters that JASO MA2 is API SL. If you read the characteristics of API SL oil, they are slightly superior to Motul 5100. I have been pouring car engine oil into my motorbikes for 7 years now, nothing slips, nothing happens. I don't want to overpay for the 4T label on the canister. Cars have 4T motors on them too). But it's a personal matter. There will be no winners in this argument except the oil manufacturers. :)

Always try to prefill oil filter. It will shorten the time engine running without oil pressure at first startup. Very easy to do on a Sprint since it faces upwards.

Nice advice thanks brother

I once had a garage over tighten my oil filter on my Sprint. Had to lay the bike on its side with the help of a couple of biker friends and we had great fun ripping the filter apart until we managed to get it off. It was so tight it was like they welded it to the engine block. That said, I've never taken it back there and let their monkeys loose on my bike again.

Gaffer will have had a problem before so tells them to make sure it’ll never come off!🙄

My local bike shop has overfilled the oil but before I drain some off, I’ve read online some Triumph had the incorrect length dipstick fitted. Any idea what the correct length should be?

Hello I’ve measured mine 🙈 and it’s 152mm and that’s the back of the O ring. Let me know thanks 👍

When you check the oil level do you screw the dipstick all the way in ?
@floatybisquit Жыл бұрын
Yes I believe that’s what it says in the manual both tyres on ground and screwed in

Did my oil last weekend. Couldn't get the filter off so thought "f*ck it" and did the oil and left the old filter in. Flat head screwdriver would have done the trick. Is hand tight with yhe new filter OK?

Never had a problem with hand tight! Just keep an eye on it
