Oil canal in crankshaft

It's a good Solid Works tutorial and it's easy to follow but can you explain how can those canals be done "in real" life? Is this crankshaft done by casting whole crankshaft? Because according to my small knowlegde it can't be done by drilling in crankshaft. Can you please explain?
