Nice job! Hey, fun fact! If you're applying Teflon tape to a fitting, hold it in your right hand with the threads facing out, (away from your hand.) Then, start to apply the tape to the threads going OVER the top, so it's coming toward you, and then around. This allows the tape end "tail" to be in the right alignment so that as you're tightening the fitting it won't unravel on you the way it was doing in the video!

Great tip, I noticed that too. I always seem to get it backwards 😂

Another fun fact for ya. For gas, oil, propane, natural gas use PTFE yellow thread tape, Teflon tape is not corrosion resistant with petrol and chemicals, it will degrade over time with contact. It's only 1-2 dollars more and worth it. These kits only come with Teflon tape because their China products and they could care less.

@Pops-DA-SalorMan4 жыл бұрын
I have one in my 2015 Silverado and I check it every 200 miles. I have a Gatorade bottle that I just keep emptying the oil into and its almost full. So really its up to you.

@@DustinT Usually no length of time sometimes once a month, but other say every oil change. In my opinion that would be to long. Nice looking carbon fiber can. Maybe another video you could do is getting rid of the hammerhead intake if it's in your plans. Replaced mine with a Airaid tube left stock box and use a AEM dry air filter.

Great job with the presentation, Dustin! I own a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500HD gasser w/6.0L Vortec engine. This engine employs "Sequential Fuel Injection" compared to the 5.3L and 6.2L engines that use Direct Fuel Injection. I'm wondering whether my truck would benefit from a catch can. Any thoughts?

I also and running a S&B cold air intake, 3inch slp catback, edge programmer, ported jet throttle body for the 6.2l intake manifold, I have the v4 mode turned off v8 all the time I'm still getting 20mpg on a road trip, 12mpgs driving round town short trips.

I just got the V3 model. It only has an inlet and outlet. Does the dirty/ inlet (left) go near the throttle? And the outlet (clean)( right ) go to the pvc area in the middle engine area? Just making sure ,I've never done one of these, I'm no mechanic. Thanks

P.S. I’m trying to put in that oil catch can! I’ve got that part mounted. Just trying to get it connected. Got any other tips for that part? Connecting it to the engine block? I do have the radiator end disconnected just can’t get the side. Might as well tell me what side in and out. Cans marked. No good instructions just doing it from KZbin.

Is it normal for these GDI engines to have heavy exhaust at startup - like you would expect on a cold day. Mine also has some grey smoke during a hard acceleration, after driving it easy for awhile.

Help!!! I just can’t seem to get the connection to the pcv value to disconnect. I can move it after pushing in the tab and hear it hitting on the bulge on the nipple. But it just won’t go any farther. You say in the video to.”Press in a clip and pull it backwards “ Is that firewall backwards or radiator backwards. I’ve got it pushed in as far as it will go. And I’ve tried both directions that’s how I’m hearing the noise it just won’t come off. HELP!!!!

What a mess..keep it stock. GM has baffles in valve cover and the mapping is designed for oil vapors. Looking for more problems, and will burn your warranty. Not criticizing the install , but just adding more failure points . Clean your valves every few months much easier and safer.
