You will regret not installing the drain kit first, it’s kind of a pita to do it all over again (without scratching) I know because I did the same as you 😂 you should also mention that installing a vta catch can will result in having smells in the cabin at red lights and idling and when heater is on ! Some may wanna go another route because of this specially on a daily driver !

He seemed to of just completley removed the pcv hose, what if you remove just the hose that connects to the pcv valve itself but lesve the other end of that hose plugged in but you cap it off witha vacuum cap, will that prevent any smells?

I believe the smell is coming from the Breather Filter (off of the catch can) ...in theory if you replaced the little filter with some kind of cap or plug it should get rid of the smell, but by doing so.. you won't be able to relieve crack pressure which is what that little filter was intended to do. (at least that's just what I think 🤷🏽‍♂️😅)

@@luisruizz_it is coming from the breather, the breather can’t be removed otherwise the catch can becomes irrelevant

@@danceswithak47s77having a cap a the end of the ose would make it as if the pcv valve was clogged and redirect all the liquid back where it came from…not good, to not have the smells you need another catch can than this one

@@RogerPiz no problem! well, if you bought a new catch can from MAPerformance it should have came with both fittings so that it could work with either plastic or metal valve covers but if you got your oil catch can secondhand or used, then you might need to contact MAPerformance and they’ll send you the exact fitting that you need for your plastic valve cover 👍🏽

Little add, if your car is tuned prior and throwing this on, the car will not run. I have 2 evo 10s this worked with my stock tuned evo, but my partially built evo it deleted the idle circuit and would not turn over. The tuner said I need to re-tune in order to run this setup. So currently, it's just a paperweight in the engine bay.

I guess it depends entirely on how built you have your Evo, because I am on a custom tune with a couple of bolt ons and I did not need a re-tune for this oil catch can
