I this is an old video but. I have a 2007. On my second oil change I went in from the top by removing the serpentine belt easiest way I found to remove filter.

I know this is an old vid but I did an oil change on my 06 Liberty today and did it exactly the way you did. Simple but still a pain in the rear.

Ok but what do I do if I can not get my arm in that far for the filter? I’m trying to find some skinny neighbor kid.

I don't understand why people don't buy a 50 Cent pair of rubber gloves to keep the toxic oil from getting there skin and blood system.

I do normally wear gloves when changing the oil and to do other work on vehicles, I didn't wear any when filming this video as the gloves interfered with working the camera. Touchscreens don't work well with gloves on.

@@SmallTownTrekker I couldn't get the filter out by hand so I took a long pry crowbar and banged it in until it turned a little, then by hand

I use an oil filter wrench that fits over the end of the filter that you can insert a ratchet with an extension into and loosen the filter, but most times it just gives you a little extra to grip onto and you don't even need the ratchet. Or you can go the route my brother use to do and take a hammer and pound the longest screwdriver you can find all the way through the filter and twist it off...NOT RECOMMENDED! and also messy.
