Going to change the oil today on my 18 5.0. I'm putting in a Ronin valve to eliminate the Exxon Valdez spout. Expensive, but worth it. When putting the dipstick back in, push it in about 2 inches from the opening, a little bit at a time, instead of fighting the bendy metal from the yellow pull end.

I too just purchased the Ronin valve for my Mustang GT. No worry about the oil ring needing replacing now.

It’s easier to put the dipstick in through the front of the strut tower bar instead of behind it 👍🏼

I usually put painters plastic down and take a drill bit and drill a hole in the bottom of the filter to drain it.

Recommended is 5w-20 unless you are at the track.

I have been breaking the tabs on the oil drain plug and replacing with a new one for each oil change

FWIW, the oil filter access on my late 2019 GT (delivered Aug 2019) is through a one piece plastic panel that is held by 4 screws and goes across the engine. It is about 1 ft x 2 ft. No drop down panel on my GT.

just watched oil change video not clear where exactly is the oil marked in the checkered area that could be a qt low depending exactly where take a pic very important.

Yeah, you gotta love the way Ford put the electrical connection for the steering right under the oil filter. Soaks it every time. Just changed mine the other day. Noticed when removing oil filter, about a cup full of dirty oil came out of the drain plug hole. So always remove filter first then do the drain plug after.

I have a 2020 Mustang GT now. I had a 2017 Mustang V-6 before this one. The oil filter was positioned right over the electronic steering box. I always tried to divert the waste oil with a section of newspaper away from the box.

Use a large freezer bag when you change the oil filter for a no mess oil change .
